ABOUT ME

First, I have 3 cats and a small dog. I have a kitty door so there is no poop box in the house, but if you're allergic to animals, this probably isn't the couch for you. You won't have to worry about them jumping on you or you petting them - they'll run from you. Except for my dog, the cats only come in the house to eat.

About me, I love meeting new people and rarely meet a stranger. I'm a nonsmoker and you please be as well. I don't want to smell you if you smoke like a chimney, but I can handle light smokers who smoke outside. I like to take spontaneous road trips to New Orleans (for the music, food, and festivals) or the Florida panhandle area (for the beaches). I like finding new music and drinking my beer and just having a good time while I'm out. I'm usually dabbling in several little art projects and looking for inspiration wherever I go.

I live two blocks from our beach and usually am there every morning walking or riding my bike. I love animals and don't mind if you have any too. If you want to get away and relax, sit at the beach or poolside, hike in the woods, kayak or some other kind of outdoor activity, then this is a wonderful place to hear yourself and clear your head from the city life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Update: 15 April 11: I have just returned to work after being off for two months. Right now, I'm short on time, but as soon as things slow down again, I can offer space again. My schedule varies, so please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested.

I can offer a couch/room, meet for a beer, drink, or coffee/tea. If you're staying with me, I'm not into the casinos, and I will only go with you to eat there...They're easy to find, and I can give you directions to get there if you feel the need to see one. If you don't have a vehicle I'm also close for day trips to New Orleans, Florida and anywhere in between. I might even be persuaded to drive you somewhere for your next adventure. I'm always looking for a road trip.

Intereses

old friends and making new ones, dancing (although I'm not very good), wine, beer, laughing, art, pottery, gardening, bicycling, skydiving, camping and hiking, kayaking, canoeing, beaches, flowers, the smell of fresh cut grass, the salty air of the sea, and marveling in the beauty yet to be seen. Música, películas y libros

I don't go to many movies, but I tend to like B movies and arthouse movies best. The so-called blockbusters bore me and I've been known to fall asleep. Zzzz

My musical tastes run the gamut from Anders Osborne, Elvis Costello, Nick Cave, Xavier Rudd, bauhaus, John Butler Trio, Johnny Cash, Rockabilly, Led Zepplin, Wilco, Greg Dulli (Afghan Whigs), The Black Keys, Unkle, David Bowie, Blue King Brown, Michael Franti, Tribalistas, The Tragically Hip, Devendra Banhart, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, I could go on forever....anything and everything but Pop. Please, no, Pop crap. Lady Gaga makes me want to puke and Britney Spears has no talent. Yes, it's very true. Believe me before you hurt your ears. I rarely listen to the radio at all and quite honestly despise it. I do, however, play Pandora or Slacker internet radio while driving.

Favorite authors include Kurt Vonnegut, David Sedaris, Nick Hornsby, Anais Nin, and lots of others. I love the classics as well as poetry. I read fiction, biography, history and art books. A favorite all time book is the "Giving Tree"

Sunsets and sunrises amaze me every day that my feet touch the ground. I've heard some pretty amazing music and drank some good wine. And of course, I've met some amazing people.
