ABOUT ME

I've had a serious case of wanderlust for as long as I can remember. I took the plunge into international travel in 2008, when I studied in Italy and traveled all over Europe. It was an incredible year, and one that completely changed the course of my life.
I came home to do the 'sensible' thing: graduate college and get a grown-up job. And I did. I worked for an amazing non-profit for a few years, but realized that I am in no way ready to settle in to a 9-5 kind of existence. So, I quit and bought a one-way ticket to Japan. For the next six months, I slowly traveled through Japan, China ,and Indonesia, and even rented a house in Bali for awhile. Unfortunately, I had to return home to have back surgery and have been recuperating for the past few months. But I'll get back to exploring the world in April - this time with my brother!

PHILOSOPHY

Be open to what the world has to offer. Then choose wisely.

I believe that everything is a choice - even in a situation in which there are no choices, we can choose how to react.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have an incredibly comfortable couch that is unfortunately unavailable now that I am off traipsing the world again. And, for all the times that I have hosted people on that couch and have stayed on other people's couches, it has never been via the CouchSurfing website. I have, however, met CouchSurfers for coffee or dinner and those have always been amazing experiences.
