ABOUT ME

I used to be a scientist, but now work in biotech. I write science fiction and play banjo, ukulele, guitar and sing in an indie band in San Diego.

I'm a vegetarian and for exercise I love biking and yoga.

For fun I enjoy going to shows, grabbing coffee, writing, meeting new people, bumming around bars, movies. I generally don't do many outdoor-type things, but I've been known to go on the odd hike.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. While not religious in the least, I take a hard line on "karma." In my experience you should treat others as you'd like to be treated. Being an asshole gets in the way of reaching out and connecting to others so what's the point?

I would love to open my couch up to visiting folks in the future if and when my roommate situation allows it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a wonderful and serendipitous trip to Australia a few years back and still keep in touch with my hosts. Ever since then I've been hoping to couch surf again once I was able to travel for fun again.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like genre stuff mostly for books, but movies I'll watch anything good. I'm mostly a walking movie encyclopedia, so I get really excited about upcoming projects.

As for music, I lean towards indie mostly, but grew up on classic rock and alternative and being from Chicago I have a serious weak spot for blues and soul.
