About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Survive Asia with sanity intact and not without taking risks.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Northern England, and living/travelling in Asia for over a year now. I love to travel, to experience something new everyday. The more bizarre the better! Life's too short too to spend in monotony so let's throw ourselves into this adventure together, with an open mind and remember that we can learn so much from each other and its our differences that make us special.

PHILOSOPHY

Have a good time as much as you can while helping others to do the same.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking to host at the moment, looking to surf in the near future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Pretty new to this so not many experiences yet. Hopefully plenty of fantastic ones to come though. Watch this space.

Interests

Other than all the very usual stuff(culture, movies, art, food, reading, laughter, music and of course travel) I like playing guitar, was recently introduced to motorbiking which I can see myself doing a lot, and I'm usually up for a nice game of chess.
Oh, and I don't mind a beer or five every now and then!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like (among others)...

Books
Aldous Huxley
Douglas Adams
George Orwell
Bill Bryson
Irvine Welsh
Catcher In The Rye
Stranger in a Strange Land
Flowers for Algernon

Movies
Monty Python
Quentin Tarantino
Requiem for a Dream
Clockwork Orange
Human Traffic

Plus too much music to mention (all styles but I particularly love classic/blues rock)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Motorbiking through the mountains of Northern India - breathtaking scenery, occasional monsoons and accidentally running over a large snake!

Teach, Learn, Share

First off I'm interested in learning about other cultures and other peoples points of view. My on-and-off job for the last few years has been English teacher so I'm always happy to give a few pointers if it's not your first language. Also my guitar usually travels with me so if you're a beginner I can teach you, if you're a virtuoso I can learn from you and if you're in between we can learn from each other! I've recently started dabbling in cooking and wine making. I'm a complete beginner to these so I have a lot to learn but plenty of enthusiasm. As for sharing, I just hope we can share a good time together and maybe swap a few travel/adventure stories.
