About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Collect new experience, explore the world, challenge yourself all the time! Do your best and forget the rest! Have less, do more, be more ;)

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm a couchsurfer already for 6 years here. For the last few years I have lived in Wroclaw in Poland where I studied and worked for last 2 years. Currently I decided to pause, take a break from my professional career as a Reporting/Improvement Specialist in Business sector and chase some of my dreams. In September I have started my 3-month journey to South America and want to do backpacking on my own.
Who am I as a person? Hmm, I think of myself as an open-minded person who wants to experience new adventures, get to know new people, new culture and new places around the world.
Also a person, for whom life is all about the challenges, accepting them, looking for them and trying to test your limits - psychical as well as mental.

PHILOSOPHY

"When was the last time you did something for the first time?..."
"It's always better to regret something you have done, than to regret something you haven't done."
"Happiness only real when shared..."
"Fall seven times and stand up eight."
"Get busy living, or get busy dying."
"Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking."
"Wisdom is knowing what to do next, skill is knowing how to do it, and virtue is doing it."
"Never apologize for what you feel. It's like saying sorry for being real."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed already in three places (Italy, England and Barcelona).
My roommates and I hosted also twice people from Italy and Poland and offered sightseeing together, etc.

Also, I got the opportunity to attend local couchsurfing meeting in Poland where I met severalgreat and open minded people from Australia and United States.

At the moment I cannot offer a place to sleep as I am in journey, but once I'm back I can show you my hometown or Wroclaw - city where I studied and have lived for the last 7 years - if interested, just let me know :)
So far I want to get know new places and new people all over the world, explore and share experience mainly through CouchSurfing site.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We did with my friends spontaneous trip to Ravenna in Italy in April 2011 through CS (but didn't have CS account back then - so that was just a beginning... and it was great! We met really friendly and hospitable host - Stefano, we had a great time there.
I was also with my good friend in London 4 years ago and 2 years in April on a great journey in Barcelona - we met very inspiring people, whose life became for me a direction which way I want to go in my life. And I fell in love with this city! :)

Interests

Mostly sport nowadays: I'm addicted to running, especially long distances, I love also swimming and biking - that's why I took part in triathlon event for last few years, and completed 2 halfmarathon and 2 marathons so far. Also, I completed Half-Ironman triathlon in 5h 33min - that is my best sport success so far ;)
Also, for last 2 years I'm leaving on a plant-based diet and would be happy to share my experience about that too.
Music, Moto, Travelling, Meditation, Yoga, Poker, Aircrafts (a bit), Rubik's Cube - solving it under 20 seconds, can you too? ;)
Ahh, and of course Financial Markets - I was lucky to study what I trully like and can still develop in that area.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm open to any kind of music. But there is one heavy metal band that I just love - Iron Maiden!
Several concerts behind me, hopefully even more still ahead!
Also RHCP, U2, Linkin Park, AC/DC, Rise Against, Good Charlotte, Coldplay, Moby, Eminem, Simple Plan and many others.
Movies, hmmm don't really like watching horrors and scifi.
My favourite: Peaceful Warrior, Forest Gump, Yes Man, The Ultimate Gift, The bucket list, Unbroken (recent one), Armageddon, Into The Wild, Inception, The secret life of Walter Mitty, the Art of Flight, James Bond movies and of course Rocky series!.
Books, I was quite impressed by the Paul Coelho's philosophy, but mostly I like reading some inspiring or science books, ex.g. The 4-hour work week by Ferriss.
And latelty started some Coben's criminal books - they really can make you forget about the rest of the world :) I think I like the books about the self-development the most.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Deciding to leave the comfortable and safe workplace and go to a 3-month roundtrip in South America on my own (which I am currently doing)
- Hang gliding in Rio de Janeiro during my 3-month trip in South America - so far best experience ever - "I'm like a bird!" :)
- Skydiving! This feeling of being free, somewhere there at 4 thousand meter height.
- Autostop Race in Rome - going by hitchhiking from Poland to Rome in under 55 hours - that was great experience and a way to test your character and determination to reach your goals ;) I repeated that trip with my other good friend Alessandra, in August '14 and we not only did reach Rome, but went more south to Naples and Sicily - it took us 14 days to go one way and another - the best memory so far!
- Finishing triathlon and marathon after months of preparation and determination as well - the feeling on the finish line was unforgettable - I tried to test my higher limits this year - finished half Ironman in 5h 33min ;)
Amazing things I have seen? Definetely sunsets and sunrises, especially on the plane or in the mountains - I just can't stop loving these views and can stand hours in front of it contemplating.
- Going on an exchange program to United States and not knowing what to expect - of course it became one of my the best memories with many adventures and different experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel that sharing some stories and ways of thinking helps not only others but also myself define and articulate properly thoughts and values.
I can also share some experience about Poland and life there, practice with you English, talk about different subjects.
It also turned out recently that I'm not that bad cook - so I can prepare some Polish tradicional dumplings (pierogi) if you would like to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have variety of hobbies and interest I am open to many subjects. Also, I can share with you some information about my country, Poland or talk about different kind of sports.
For last 2 years I have been living on a plant-based diet and I think I develop my skills in the kitchen so I could prepare some healthy vegan food.
