About Me

ABOUT ME

My surname "Papoušková" means in translation "daughter of parrot". Maybe that is one of the reasons why i am so much attracted by traveling and discovering new places and people.

During my Erasmus experience in Portugal i shared house with people from Brazil, Argentina, Poland, Tanzania and one amazing dog. I learned many new things from them, got other view to life, met many of their lovely friends and tried different kinds of food during our common dinners. Even we all had different habits and daily routine we found way how to live in harmony together.

I like fun, getting know new things, people, places and experiences. I am always with smile on my face. It is always my pleasure help to friend who need my help or advice. I want to learn, know and explore what life brings to me. I agree with "Traveling is like a tattoo - you will always want more and more, you will get addicted to it"

PHILOSOPHY

The best way how to get to know the city is to get lost in it.
You won't get to know the world on the vacation.
“Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Once I hosted one guy from California. He stayed just one day, I showed him the city and next day left to explore other parts of Czech Republic. I was also guiding one Catalan friend in Prague with whom i have after that spent 2 months in Barcelona. Most recently during visit of amazing Krakow in Poland had a chance to meet two incredibly nice and interesting girls that were super great hosts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a good luck to meet nice Mexican people. They hosted me in their nice home for a 2 days in Barcelona.

Interests

I like going to the theater. I am spending time working on our garden and I like going to nature, but to little cozy bars as well. I like jazz, swing, country pop, latin and many others kind of music. I enjoyed attending self-defence course too and in recent time I started with fitbox and bouldering a little bit. During winter time snowboard and during summer beach volleyball with friends:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I´ve always wanted to visit Barcelona. One day I´ve just simply decided to buy one-way flight ticket. My plan was to find some job to cover my living expenses to allow me stay for about two months. I arrived to Barcelona on my own, did´t know anyone there, didn´t speak almost any Spanish and didn´t have a job. After few days and initial difficulties I found a job in lovely Turkish restaurant, met some CSers, made friends and explored Barcelona city every day. It was the best summer.
