I am a recent college grad, trying to figure out what I want to do with my life/year/month and am pretty sure it does not involve a basic 9-5. I am excited to do as much exploring and traveling as I can during a time in my life that is as uncomplicated and unattached as it is ever going to be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping to couch surf and ride my bike through southern Italy this November (2012)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not much yet. I've been interested in trying out couch surfing for a while (both host and surfer) but have been in school, where I didn't have a whole lot of time for traveling and my living situations was not ideal for hosting. But now that I am working seasonally as a tour guide, I will have more time off for both travel and hosting.

Interests

I am very active and love to bike, hike, run, ski, rock climb, and camp. I also love to read, travel (obviously), learn new hobbies, and hear new music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read both fiction and non-fiction, trashy quick-reads as well as more intellectual "must-reads". Ayn Rand changed the way I think about the world, as did David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest.

Favorite Movies: Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Inception, Almost Famous

TV: I like all things HBO.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think American travelers tend to underate the natural beauty of their own country, but the red rocks of Zion Canyon and the aspens and pines of Rocky Mountain National Park take me breath away on a daily basis.

Teach, Learn, Share

I always want to learn knew hobbies, especially active ones. Any adventure sport out there is for me.

I can teach you a decent amount about bikes as well as taking you to some great hiking or camping spots if I am hosting. I also love to talk all things Sustainability.
