ABOUT ME

I am currently working as an after school teacher and applying to agricultural education positions and the peace corps. Like many Portlanders, I have a passion for the environment. I love spending time in the great outdoors and wish however possible, to keep this lovely, amazing planet as precious for the next generations of earthlings:) Most who know me know that I have MANY interests but one of the major ones is travel. Not only is it fun but I also think that it is a perfect way to learn about the world around us and to gain a deeper respect for all of us who live in it. I love my city and my state and will galdly show you as much as I am able to because I think it is a wonder to see all of it. There is so much more about me but I leave the rest to be explained later

PHILOSOPHY

I suppose my personal philosophy is to live in the moment and enjoy as many as possible. Life is meant to be lived but not at the expense of others. I believe in respecting the people and the world around you because in the end it's all we have to keep us going and we shouldn't jeopardize our relationship with the world over our wants and desires. I know it's cliche, but I'm one of those who believes in wanting what you have not having what you want.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by being able to show those who come to visit, my city and its culture. I hope to eventually offer up my couch but at the moment I live with my parents and I can't offer up their couch. To all lovers of camping and big day trips, I can definitely provide a means for that:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed once in Turkey and it was most definitely an adventure. I also participated in a similar program called Servas, and stayed with several hosts in Europe.

Interests

Travel, hiking, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, camping, mountain climbing, skydiving, bungy jumping, biking, swimming, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, tennis, reading, archery, watching movies, spending time with friends, photography, drawing, singing, trying new foods, dancing, playing games, learning about different cultures and history, learning about new discoveries in most any field, and a whole lot more that I can't bring to mind at the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most any kind of music especially if it is good to dance to, sing to, or if it evokes certain raw emotions. Movies and books are pretty much the same, I like at least some films in most genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-One was when I was white water rafting in New Zealand and it snowed the whole time. both boats were able to have a snowball fight on the water.
-Another was walking along the cliffs of one of the Aran Islands in Ireland. It was so magical to be there with no other tourists at the site of an ancient fort.
