About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel as much as possible and meet as many interesting people as possible before we have kids and are thus grounded for life
ABOUT ME
I have a good sense of humor and I am very easy to get along with. I am a little self conscious and, sometimes shy but give me a few drinks and you won't be able to shut me up. I have been married now for 2 years to my hilarious but very serious looking husband, Hart. We met in a drawing class at the university 7 years ago and we've been together ever since. We have two cats, Scooty-Puff and Jean-Luc. I have been finished with school for a while now and I haven't quite decided what to do with the rest of my life and my husband is considering the same thing. We are artist, but it is hard to figure out what to do with our talents. We really enjoy traveling even if its just camping a few miles away. We are planning to start a family soon so we want to take in as much of the world as we can before we have kids.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in having a good work ethic and being socially responsible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to host and surf. I think this is an awesome concept and a great way to bring the world closer together. I am very interested in meeting people from all walks of life. Its fun to host people because you get to show someone all the cool stuff we live around, but never actually go out to see. I haven't surfed yet but I am sure that will be equally awesome.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've only been members for a few months and already we are making new friends just within our area.
Interests
We love to go geocaching. If you're not sure what that is it is when someone hides something in a park or public area and post the coordinates online. Other people then use gps devices to hunt down the capsule that was hidden and post about their experience online. Its fun. Its like hiking and treasure hunting at the same time and sometimes you really have to use your head to find this stuff. We always find ourselves wondering into different areas of the city and seeing things we wouldn't normally see.
I am a painter and when I travel I take a ton of photos for future reference for my art. I like to use oils and sometimes I use watercolors as well. I tend to paint in an abstract manner when left to my own devices. Not non-objective abstract- I always have some sort of subject in mind. Recently I have been doing some paintings of botanical life, but I am interested in doing a series involving old world architectural themes.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Quentin Tarantino films and I love zombie movies! Zombieland, The Dawn of the Dead, and Shawn of the Dead are among my favorites. When there aren't any good zombie movies out I settle for a good sci-fi like Inception or wacky comedy like The Other Guys or Pineapple Express. Failing that I just put on the Royal Tenembaums or Arrested Development.
Some bands I enjoy are DeathCab, Rilo Kiley, the Killers, and The Muse. I also love anything I can sing to and I am always up for karaoke.
I love to read fiction and sometimes non-fiction. My favorite books are House of Leaves, Dune, The Life of Pi, stuff by Robin Hobb, Isaac Asimov, HP Lovecraft, Frank Herbert, Orson Scott Card (just the mormon stuff though lol), World War Z was a fun one too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We were sailing to the Abel Tasman trail from Nelson on the south island of New Zealand when we saw a penguin swimming in the ocean. It felt great to be so close to nature.
