ABOUT ME
I love to travel, love it with all my heart and soul. It is through travelling, aided my passion for the Spanish language that I have been able to meet so many fascinating people and experience this crazy, beautiful world. I love to learn--teach me something new!
Soy una buscavidas y una persona cariñosa, apasionada, y relajada.
PHILOSOPHY
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."--African Proverb
"People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel." --Maya Angelou
"It takes a village to raise a child." --African Proverb
"Listen and listen well. You can learn something from everyone.
Be kind. Be honest. Be true to what you believe. Be good to the earth. And always, always smile.
“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I moved back home to Minneapolis after teaching in a Title 1 school in inner city Miami, FL for the past year. Recently, I moved in to a new apartment with a roommate and will be travelling for the month of October so I cannot offer a couch at the moment. However, I am more than willing to meet up for a cup of coffee and help you explore the city!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love couchsurfing. Not only is it a wonderfully frugal way to travel, it allows the experience to be a social one. I have a met so many tremendously kind and extraordinary people through this program!
Interests
By vocation, I am an educator, social justice advocate, and currently, a Spanish-speaking Health Adviser with aspirations of graduate school and ultimately, acting as the Director of International Education for a university. By passion, I am a writer (mostly short stories but I'm dabbling at a novel currently). In my free time, I run, I paint, I do yoga and pilates, I love to cook spicy vegetarian Thai and Indian food, I love playing with animals and little kids, I watch lots of foreign films, I am a music addict (cannot go a day without listening to it). I am also a huge fan of all things chocolate.

1) Arriving in Buenos Aires, Argentina for my study abroad trip--I'll never forget the sunny cloudless day,my first glimpse at the city that would be home for the next 6 months, the terrifying driving and traffic, and the chatterbox-of-a-taxi-driver telling me all about the politics, food, poverty, corruption, and football teams of Argentina.
2)Getting on top of the Duomo in Florence, Italy. I was the only one in my group who made it up to the top. It was breathtaking!!
