ABOUT ME

I recently created a new couch surfers page after moving to Guilin, China for the year. I am teaching English at the University level and hoping to do lots of traveling here and there!

I just graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa with a degree in Elementary Education and have always wanted to teach abroad after graduating-so here I am! I figured I didn't want to waste my time making money, so instead I came to China : )

Guilin is set on the west bank of the Li River and is known to be one of China's most picturesque cities. Two, rivers encircled by breathtaking mountains and scenery make Guilin what it is! On top of all it's natural beauty, Guilin is also packed with many nightclubs, bars, and places to relax and enjoy the Chinese culture.

I believe couch surfers is a great way to connect with like-minded people and get a feel for other cultures/discover other ways of life and I am excited to get started again with couch surfing!

As far as a personal description, I'm 23, I'm from the U.S., I don't own a weapon and I'm down for a good time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch Surfers has provided me with many enlightening opportunities. My brothers and I began couch surfing while traveling around Europe and had great experiences all around! After returning to the States I continued to host couch surfers and recently created another CS page while in China. Through Couch Surfers I have had the opportunity to meet a ton of amazing people and hear some incredible stories. Couch Surfers is a perfect way to meet people with the same mindset and interests.

There's more to life than increasing it's speed(props to Gandhi), and taking the time to kick back, grab a beer and chat with new people is what I feel couch surfing is all about!
