Overview
About Me
I would describe myself as a very positive person, uncomplicated, easy-going and open for meeting new people, countries, languages and cultures..
Life is beautiful- and even more when you share it with others!
In general, I like to be traveling and stay abroad. For this reason I was participating in European Voluntary Service for 1 year in Belgium and did Erasmus in Portugal. And a great amount of my studies I spent with participating in other intercultural exchanges, projects (mostly about European citizenship and/or education) or on holidays..
After finishing my studies in Münster (GER) I moved to the Netherlands for two years. In late 2019 I moved to Essen where I am living at this moment.. so even for me still lots of things to discover around here!
Right now I work as a (high school) teacher for biology, dutch and german as a foreign language (intercultural pedagogics) nearby.
I like my job a lot- but my free time as well ;) unfortunately the times of being a student are over but still I am trying to enjoy my life as much as possible (next to the all-day-working-life).
Always in for a talk, beer and food- what else do you need when in good company?!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Until now I made super nice experiences when couchsurfing in countries all over the world.
Such a good vibe!
Next to be given accomodation I went to some events organized by couchsurfing locals like alternative city tours or weekly meetings and enjoyed them a lot!
also language exchange events is something I really appreciate!
As I said: I just like to get in touch with new people, share stories, have a good time together!
Its always so much nicer to get travel advice from locals than from some random unpersonal guide..
And this is just on top of getting to know super interesting people :)
Interests
Nature (!), travel, family and friends, swimming and everything that is connected to the water, good conversations, beer, good food (vegetarian), music, dancing and festivals (especially reggae, dancehall, dub but also rock and all kinds of electronic stuff), own adventures (especially spontaneous trips without any planning) and all kinds of outdoor activities as hiking, camping, skiing, surfing, sailing...
as well as books and a relaxed day at home!
I am the strange combination of high activity and extreme laziness in one person :)
