Overview
About Me
So first of all: I’m getting a lot of requests for months ahead, and those are utterly in vain because I have no idea whether I’ll be able to host then, so if you send a request that’s more than a couple of days in advance I’ll probably just decline it.
I dropped out from University of Maastricht in 2017 and have been alternating between working and travelling since then. I've spent four months in Italy, three months in Spain, lived in Berlin for two months, lived in Lyon for two months or so, moved to Scotland, and am now living in Brussels and studying philosophy and nursing. In between these travels I mostly lived at home and worked odd jobs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Sleeping on someone’s couch is definitely cheaper and supposedly more interesting than spending the night at a hostel or AirBnB. For me it’s quite easy to open up to complete strangers (maybe because of the underlying assumption that you’ll never see them again) and I’ve found that when you open up to people, they tend to dare and show you their vulnerabilities as well, which can lead to valuable encounters. And if that doesn't happen, it's fine too, you don't have to be friends with everybody.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While I was in Bari, Italy, I walked into a church with the intention of pretending to enjoy Christian artworks, but after 5 minutes of confused looks I noticed a coffin in the middle of the church and realised I was not disturbing a regular church service, but a funeral service.

What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully a good laugh or a dance or a drink. Long, heated discussions that don't really go anywhere but are enjoyable nonetheless. Very passionate but relatively misinformed debates about literature or art or politics.
Or just silence if we don't like each other and want to be left alone, really no worries.
