About Me
*Currently away until Mid September- so not able to host*
Hi there, I am a history and linguistics student at the University of Edinburgh who is originally from Berlin but has lived in the UK for almost 8 years now. I enjoy meeting new faces, travelling, learning about different people, their stories and cultures. As a child, I moved around a lot, and have therefore been exposed to a number of different things. Learning more about cultural similarities and differences is what drives me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
From this experience I would like to not only meet a great amount of interesting people, but also push my comfort zone a little bit. Staying in different homes and having visitors in your own teaches you about other lifestyles, routines, cuisines, habits. I believe that an exchange of such ideas is what creates something new and exciting.
Interests
I am a sociable person, who enjoys meeting for drinks and being in the 'hustle and bustle'. However in my own four walls I like to have a relaxed atmosphere, with friends, over some wine, good food and some good music. As a student the idea of identity really fascinates me, and in this way I enjoy reading about different cultural identities. Additionally, I enjoy going to exhibitions, particularly for more modern or contemporary art. Above all however I am easy going and welcoming.
(Being from Berlin I am also keen on good techno, although the height of my party days is slowly behind me.)

Music, Movies, and Books
Musically I enjoy a variety- from techno as mentioned above over to Jazz and more classical. I played the piano for many years and sang.
I also really enjoy just a night in with a good film- here I am very flexible.
Since I read a lot for uni I have not actually started a fictional book in years. My interest lies more in non-fiction or personal accounts.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once walked the Camino de Santiago (Jakobsweg). This was definitely the most rewarding and shaping experience to this day- I can only recommend it to anyone!!
Teach, Learn, Share
In my freetime I am an English tutor- particularly when I am home for the summers. I teach a variety of students. Learning wise I have a keen interest in a wide rage of things. And finally when it comes to sharing I belive that sharing and mixing different elements from different points often creates the most exciting results!
