Hello! I am Koen, a 21 year old student studying environmental sciences and economics. I currently work as a bartender in Utrecht and love to make coffees and cocktails! I also like to go running, climbing and kickboxing. I am gonna learn some spanish and how to surf in the coming weeks. I am quite adventurous and am always looking for a new story to tell. Usually I take my camera on my trips so I have some nice pictures to show! Exploring new or abandoned places or climbing high towers is something you will always get me excited for!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because for the coming four months I will be travelling through spain, Italy and the balkans. I don't really have money to stay at places so for most of the time I will be sleeping in a hammock in the woods. I really like to sleep outside and think it really adds an element to the experience. However, it might get a bit much from time to time so for those days I want to try out couchsurfing as a safe zone. I have never used this but hopefully it will help me out in times of absolute desperation :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I fell in love with Russ about five years ago and he still is by far my favorite artist. Other than him I like to listen to artists such as still woozy, milky chance and I also really love techno music and going to festivals. I really like the movie creed and as series breaking bad, rick and morty and bojack horseman (and I've watched everything of the walking dead but we don't want to talk about that haha). I don't read really but I wanna pick that up in the next weeks and I am currently reading man's search for meaning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing that I am super proud of is running a full marathon. I did it 1,5 years ago now and I still don't understand how I did it. My friend and I only had 2 months time to train for it and managed to complete it in around 4 hours and 30 minutes!!

Teach, Learn, Share

For myself, I am really busy with figuring my life out. That's the reason I decided to go on this trip. I'd like to share my knowledge on that and listen to yours. Any life lessons are welcome. I am also interested in philosophy and politics.
