Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
Architecture License here I come! and then, the World.
ABOUT ME
If asked, my friends would probably (hopefully) say that I'm laid back, fun-loving, and for better or worse a bit goofy. They may also notice that I'm eternally optimistic, or at least trying to be. I don't believe in stress and do anything I can to avoid it, although I don't always win that battle (thanks deadlines!). I do however like to run, and that seems to help pretty much everything. As with many CSers I'm quite curious, one of the most important qualities in a person I think. It's also an ongoing goal of mine to be as self-aware as possible, so we'll see.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm in the middle of read Tim Ferriss' "The 4-Hour Workweek," and that seems about right... Focus on the few most important things and do them well and quickly. Once work is taken care of, free time is best spent pursuing excitement, whatever that may mean
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Thus far I've mainly been a surfer, but now I'm finally in a position to host myself, so come on down!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
About a year ago a friend and I made our way to Brazil for a 6 month adventure, the 1st month of which we spent surfing between several different hosts in Rio and São Paulo. CS made moving to a new country exponentially more rewarding and smooth.
Interessen
I really like buildings. Consequently I also love traveling and experiencing new places, people, cultures, and most importantly, learning the different ways that different people view the same thing. I like to think these insights keep me grounded and humble, both of which I find refreshing.
I meditate by exercising, usually through one of my 3 favorites: swimming, running, and cycling (in that order). My affection for these has caused a budding interest in triathlons, which I plan to pursue more fully in the coming years. Update: did a Sprint recently and wasn't last!

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I have a strong (and at times embarrassing) affinity for electro pop and dance music. In the past year I've become increasingly attached to Reggaeton, which is just so much fun. If I could spend a month in someone else's life I'd probably pick Don Omar.
As for movies, I've never been able to name my favorite and I'm curious if I ever will. I do like movies that make me think, or feel, and if I happen to want neither I turn to over-the-top action films. I saw Gravity last week and I'me still breathing hard.
I like to read. David Sedaris is good, Malcolm Gladwell, Thomas Friedman, and other pseudo-academic, pseudo-scientific stuff like that.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
My mind immediately jumps to when I was at Iguazu Falls in Argentina last October. The sheer power of what's going around you there is exhilarating. I think that's the closest I've come to experiencing nature's potential wrath firsthand. After that I recall my 21st birthday when a professor during a semester abroad in Paris hosted a party at his apartment with rooftop access. Hanging out on that roof, singing way too loud with a great group of friends was some of the most pure fun I've ever experienced.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
If you really try, I can teach you to juggle in an hour. Are you up for the challenge?!
