About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have FUN and Spread FUN!

ABOUT ME

I am Mother of 5, Grandmother of 6 and 3/4 (daughter is PG), Music lover; Buddhist - I believe that we are all born to be happy and help others to be happy! Appreciate and Enjoy EVERYTHING! Peace on Universe!

PHILOSOPHY

Woody's turn! As you see, Kyoko set up our site, so here's about me: Born in Brewster WA (1952) and lived in ID, WA, FL, MT. Moved to Seattle in 1984. I flew a lot (AS/MEL pilot), enjoyed boating, whitewater rafting and scuba diving, traveled most of USA on business and much of Europe and Asia on pleasure. Favorite dive spots: Casco Bay, Caye Caulker and Phi Phi. I work for a renowned crane company, Lampson International. I'm a Buddhist, classic car hobbyist (28 Chevy, 64 Amphicar), Freemason. I love my family and am very proud of all our children. Goals: peace, love and happiness! We are building a house on the ocean in beautiful Shizuoka Japan and plan to move in late 2020 when I retire. But I'll teach TEFL courses to keep busy - and we'll have a tatami guest room for visiting couchsurfers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first CS trip to Europe. We had NO bad experiences, but all good ones. Met so many nice people and learned more about each country's culture through them. Hotel can't provide that. Be polite and friendly, show your appreciation and respect to your host and country you are visiting. Now we host lots of wonderful, interesting travelers here at home. Some stayed 1 night, some stayed 1 week. No bad experience so far. Use common sense and common courtesy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

(Woody writes:) Now that our children have become adults, we are traveling more! Every year, we visit Japan and try to experience beautiful Tohoku and witness its recovery from the tragic 3-11-11 natural disasters. Our favorite sushi bar is in Shiogama. Last September, we also toured India and loved the experience. The Taj Mahal well deserves its reputation. Earlier, in February, we had set out to explore Germany and Slovenia, but Kyoko slipped on black ice in Berlin and broke her kneecap. It was a travel adventure! We spent the entire two weeks in Berlin, and never regretted a day. Americans are amazed when I tell them the reasonable costs of quality medical care in Germany! In 2019, Kyoko made a special trip to Shizuoka to review her building design with our builder. Next is a Danube river cruise and a couple days in Buda and Pest. In November, we have booked a tour and Aegean cruise in Greece. We love to travel and meet new people.
