About Me

Hey there fellow human. I'm an easy-going, outdoor loving, meditation teacher/adrenaline junkie from the sunny state of California. I recently left my full-time job as an engineer to travel around the globe. I hope immerse myself in plenty of beautiful natural places, while expanding my knowledge of how different cultures stay healthy and happy. I'm also currently on a wave seeking mission, as the ocean seems to have taken over a part of my brain since I started surfing a few years ago. Generally you can find me outside doing active things. When I need to be inside, I'd consider myself a pretty chill person for the most part, but I'm also capable and willing to dance all night long (if the music is good).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's lots to experience in the world, and it's not very efficient to try to experience it all yourself. So I'm on Couchsurfing to meet people from all over the planet, and get off the beaten path to learn the ways of the locals. Also, my biggest passion is sharing my existing passions with others who are curious and willing to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can appreciate most music, but there's nothing that gets me going like a good electronic beat. I don't watch many movies these days, but I'm life-long fan of Lord of the Rings, and any documentary that's well made and about something I don't know. Also Chef's Table is amazing. In terms of books, I'm a big reader of psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, and adventures stories. Among my favorites are "Stealing Fire", "The Talent Code", "The Surrender Experiment", "Why We Sleep", and "How to Change Your Mind".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I successfully completed the California Trifecta of surfing, skiing, and snowboarding within the same day. I also fell off a 60 foot cliff one time, and survived to make this Couchsurfing profile.

Teach, Learn, Share

For me, teaching, learning, and sharing all go together. I'm an extremely curious person - anything that I'm willing to teach and share I'm also willing to learn more about. I particularly enjoy teaching meditation, breathwork, and a variety of physical exercise. I have a pretty consistent morning routine consisting of these three things, and anyone is always welcome to join to learn or contribute! But I'm also happy to teach, share, and learn about any of the interests tagged in my profile.
