About Me

Note: I realize my response rate is quite low, but I do try to respond to everyone who writes or requests a couch. Unfortunately I seem to get a lot of last minute requests that expire before I can reply...

ABOUT ME

I spent the past few years working as a wildlife biologist on a pygmy rabbit study for the University of Nevada, Reno, as well as teaching introductory biology classes. During the summer I usually work on research projects around the Western US, mostly trapping small mammals. I graduated a few years ago with my M.S. in biology, and so I traveled a bit for some R&R and eventually decided to start a PhD program in Germany!

Grew up in Utah, about an hour north of Salt Lake City. It's a great place, and despite what people may say you can buy beer and there are tons of great microbreweries scattered around the state.

PHILOSOPHY

Bring tons of $1 & $5 bills to Ecuador.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted in Reno quite a bit the past few years. I really enjoyed showing people around the Reno/Tahoe area and look forward to hosting in Germany once I get settled!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in China, Central America, Europe, North Africa, Australia, the Middle East and SE Asia. I've also been led to some amazing places through couch surfers I never met; the eagle festival in Mongolia being one not so small example.
