I'm on the precipice of a grande world adventure, ready to take the plunge. I hope to meet a lot of great people and see the world from a local point of view.

ABOUT ME

I'm a competitive spearfisherman, keen rock climber, occasional guitar player and even more occasional surfer (although I love it). I grew up in Florida with a huge extended family and still keep very close contact with them. My family have always been into a classic outdoor lifestyle with fishing and hunting, canoeing, hiking, and good southern food! I love exploring the outdoors and my greatest experiences have always been outside. I love to meet new people and the element of discovery in experiencing new places.

PHILOSOPHY

I cherish time spent with family and friends, especially when knowledge is passed down from one generation to the next. I'm very thankful for all the things I've learned from my parents and my extended family. I have deep roots thanks to them.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to use CouchSurfing as a way to experince what the world is really like by meeting locals, understanding the local vibe and doing things that normal tourists wouldn't get to do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm fairly new to CouchSurfing, but so far several surfers have stayed with me in New Zealand and now I've been able to surf in other parts of the world. It has been a great experience full stop. Everyone has been fantastic to be around - and very different from each other! I hope to continue having great couch surfing experiences during my travels.

There's not much I don't like to listen to! Music has always been a bit part of my life and I love to play guitar.

I'm not a huge reader, but I like to write a bit. I've written a few articles for Hawaii Skin Diver, New Zealand Spearo, Spearfishing DownUnder, and Spearing Magazine

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I pulled a drowning man out of a capsized boat in NZ, summer 2009. Had to give CPR on the way back to port. He survived. It was a crazy experience.

I'll teach you: Freediving/Breath holding, rock climbing, guitar, what the USA is really like, and how to travel New Zealand and have an awesome time :)
