Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've joined CS community as a single mom in Jan 2011 and I had nothing but positive experiences. During my first year or two I used to attend local CS potlucks, host and travel with my son. However, after I re-married and my living situation changed I took a couple years break from hosting and haven't been very active in the CS community. I've definitely missed it and now just trying to convince my husband that hosting "strangers" is not a totally crazy idea as he thinks it is.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My best friend told me about this site and all the great people he met mainly as a host in Miami. I guess I've been doing couch surfing before there was www.couchsurfing.org :) so I'm glad someone finally came up with a website like this and brought the couch surfing community together

Music, Movies, and Books
So hard to pick the favorites.
I do like foreign movies, independent, out of the box stuff, as well as witty, funny or heart-warming films. Microcosmos: Le peuple de l'herbe(1996), Baraka, Cry of the Snow Lion, Burn after reading, and Born to be wild are just few of my faves.
Music wise I like many different genres, mainly electronic (dance/house/drum'n'bass/dubstep). Some of my current fave incl: Thievery Corporation, Santigold, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Blackmill, Kid Cudi
I mainly read books pertaining to Buddhist philosophy, usually authored by His Holiness the Dalai Lama or other Tibetan Buddhist Teachers. Other favorites include "Hidden Messages in Water" by Masaru Emoto, "Female Nomad" by Rita Golden Gelman, and "No Country for Old Men" by Cormac McCarthy to name the few... and pretty much anything by Bill Bryson cause I find him hilarious.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As a child I've seen kittens and puppies being born which was pretty amazing thing to witness as a kid.
Month long retreat at the Kopan Monastery in Nepal with no music or TV was probably one of the greatest experiences in my life. It certainly was life-changing :)
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're not listening to Joe Rogan Experience podcast, you definitely should look it up #SharingKnowledge. I could teach you some basic stress reducing breathing meditation or give exercise/nutrition related advice :)
