About Me

Born and raised to like the outdoors and the unknown. I’ve done my share of acting, parkour, Ph Dying and folklore dancing in the past, I'm trying to figure out living in Peru by now. I was a garbage man in Holland and cooked vegan food for the general public in a restaurant, and I take particular pride in that. I write poems and actively pursue new music discoveries. Fun to be around when given a chance, yet I can get socially awkward.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve done CS-type of hosting and travelling even before the site existed, so now that it exists it's only natural for me to be a part of it.

Interests

Amsterdam, baroque and Buddhism, cooking with friends, being disorganised, Eurovision, facts and findings of all sorts, guacamole, Heidegger, Hamsun and other nazi-seduced intellectuals, cheap jokes, kale and romanesco, literature and litter, Mongolian music and landscape, orality, Patagonia, queer culture, religious approach to pasta as well as shamanism, deflationary theory of truth, urban legends, veggies, but also voseo, ways www works, X-files, youth, zebras, quaggas and others equidae.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to cite: think Björk, Lhasa and Ratatat. Think the retro-hipster "me and my guitar" stuff. Think ethnic music.
Think von Trier, Jarman, Zvyagintsev and horror flicks.
Think Hesse, Llosa, Ibsen. Think Marías, Mendoza, Tirso de Molina. Think poetry. Think of different joys of having a book in your hands, wheter it's old or brand new. Think of extensive pencil use while reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I followed my heart to Peru.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do believe in those. But you should rather live it than list it, right?

What I Can Share with Hosts

What can I share? Whatever gives. I do think it is something that should not be planned and established ahead of time. See "my home" section for some mundane details.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Norway, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden
