ABOUT ME

Male human being, 43, single, no children, Ph.D., currently unemployed.

Hello! I'm setting up this CS profile at the advice of a friend for a trip to Iran. Currently I don't have my own apartment so I'm unfortunately unable to host (sorry), but I will attempt to return the karma in other ways.

When I was young and heard that trees have to grow so tall (and expend a lot of energy doing so) to get some sun mainly because other trees are tall as well, I figured it would be nicer if the trees would agree to grow to just one meter and spend the saved energy by playing football. After becoming an 'adult', it appears that even we humans with all our capacity to communicate are not doing much better than trees (much worse, in fact).

I'm not looking for adventure (anymore, I had that phase when I was younger). It would be nice to just live relatively calmly in peace. This would be very nice. :) If necessary, my mind is capable of complexity and I have a Ph.D. in signal processing. I quit my job 2 years ago for ethical reasons, but I would very much like to use my skills for something that benefits humanity (if you have good suggestions, please let me know).

I value honesty, depth and a good heart, and I try to cultivate these in myself (with all the associated difficulties).

I'd be happy to explain the basics of the current monetary system or teach basic Finnish or chords on the piano or mathematics or computer programming. I would like to learn about what you life is like. Also I'd like to learn basic farsi while I'm in Iran! Also I'd be happy to learn if someone knows how to calculate how many distinct integers there are in a 64x10^16 multiplication table (I'm stuck with reducing to a manageable size the associated combinations of least common multiples)[and, just to be safe, this last one was trying to be a half-joke].
