I'm originally from Russia, but have been living in New Zealand for past few years. I enjoy multi-day backpacking and cycling trips and hitchhiking - the recent 5 month-long journey in South America is my longest trip so far!

As of 2019 I'm back to Russia for a year or so - spending time in my hometown Yoshkar-Ola, visiting friends in many cities in Russia and going travelling to the countries on the same continent :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of music ranging from metal and rock to electronic, ethnic, free jazz, RIO etc. with a special emphasis on experimental and eclectic stuff! Some examples: Mr. Bungle, My Dying Bride, Cocteau Twins, John Zorn, The Future Sound of London, Angizia, Bad Sector, Current 93, Danheim, Dvar, Magma, Faith No More, Falkenbach, Hagalaz' Runedance, Knorkator, King Diamond, Huun-Huur-Tu, Nightwish, Parzival, The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud, Koenji Hyakkei, Yello etc.

I prefer to watch good old classic and deep movies including from the silent and black&white eras, not the new shiny popcorn blockbusters :) To name a few: Nosferatu, Memento, 21 Grams, Casablanca, Dial M for Murder, Apocalypse Now, Aguirre the Wrath of God, Rashomon, Solaris, The Searchers, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (I used to watch quite a lot of anime), movies by Lynch (e.g. Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead), Kubrick (Space Odyssey, Clockwork Orange...), etc.
