About Me

I like to move and be outside. Where I live is a bit of a boring suburban city. But you are welcome to stay, there are some nice trails to walk. The food is not bad around here too.

I play a ball game called Chinlone, which is a traditional sport from Myanmar (this video explains it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7ccdZk5Hqs) If you should play, well you know you have to contact me! Also I really really like durian. I do calisthenics and am an old parkour guy.

I run a small men's clothing line called Longyi Brothers that specializes in sarongs and other warm weather clothing. http://longyibrothers.com

I also do stand up comedy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been surfing since 2008. The experiences and people I have met have been amazing. Some of my hosts/guests are now good friends and I forget that we met here.

It's more fun ... and economical to couchsurf. More money to spend on delicious food together.

Interests

I really really like durian. I will travel just for durian! If you like durian, we will be friends! But if you don't like durian that's ok too.

I like to be outdoors, do exercise outdoors collecting mushrooms and berries and things. I play chinlone as mentioned before, a game from Myanmar with no winner or looser. I like anthropology of huntergatherers. I also enjoy doing stand up comedy and am in a sketch group in Toronto.

Very interested in the different cultures of the world. The diversity of humanity is amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Theres too much good music in the world, I particularly like funk, reggae, hip hop, tropicallia, rare groove, soul, . too many, wu-tang, Caetano Veloso, Sade, Kool and the Gang, Bruno Mars, so many so many

Herman Hesse and Chinua Achebe are my favourite authors.
The never ending story by Michael Ende, also great book. I don't read very much though.

Movies, I don't watch many either these days. But old Samurai films especially Kurosawa's and Studio Ghibli films are my favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the himalayas, walking through terraced rice paddies and up through hamlets into the mountains, drinking from streams and looking at snow capped peaks. That was fun. There's so much more to this story, but I'd rather tell it to you.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook for people. Let me cook you something really delicious.

Love learning about cultures, languages, recipes, edible and medicinal wild plants,

Chinlone.

I can take you to stand up comedy shows.
