Overview
About Me
We’re a couple — Andrii and Maria (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/maria-kvitka).
These days, I’m focused on professional growth in software development, but I still keep space for the things I love. Becoming a digital nomad was a huge dream — and now it’s real. It’s honestly wild in the best way: sunrise in one country, sunset in another; swimming in the Red Sea on a lunch break; or going on a hike right from home.
We love meeting open-minded people and sharing real experiences. If we connect, we’re happy to spend some time together — chat over tea, share a meal, go for a walk/hike, play a board game, or swap travel stories and local tips.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to share the best I have with good people.
And I want to learn from good people too.
Stories, ideas, awesome places, small lifehacks — the things you can’t find in guides.
Life is too short to live it alone)
Interests
Travel is my default mode — and I’m more into spontaneous, full-immersion adventures than “a little trip here and there.” I love going all-in: long hikes, kayaking, camping, and volunteering at festivals (being part of the team behind the scenes is way more fun than just watching from the crowd).
Music is another big thing for me. I play guitar as a hobby, and if you sing or play any instrument — and you’re up for a small jam — please mention it in your request. Those random living-room sessions can become the best memories.
I also genuinely love games: board games, social games, video games — anything that creates good vibes, laughter, and a bit of friendly competition.
And yes, the sea: snorkelling around coral reefs is one of my favourite types of “active meditation.” Just floating there and watching this colourful underwater world feels unreal.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music-wise, I’m not big on genre labels — it really depends on the moment. I'm more into the nice groove, complex vocal and/or instrumental parts, some good vibey stuff, and I have a soft spot for modern Ukrainian music.
Movies & shows that hit me: Love, Death & Robots, Over The Garden Wall, Swiss Army Man, Paterson, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, The Midnight Gospel, Her, etc.
Books: I used to devour fiction and fantasy (once I read 16 full-length books in a month). These days I read less, but I still enjoy big-idea non-fiction like The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb or Curious by Ian Leslie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked 200,000+ km across 16 countries — the kind of travel that teaches you trust, intuition, and a thousand unexpected human stories.
Took a 2-month solo trip to Mongolia and Hong Kong as a street performer — music, strangers, and the city as a stage.
Led the entire kitchen operation for a week-long youth civil rights camp: menu planning, cooking coordination, daily meals, plus surprise treats. And the similar kind: And in a similar spirit, I once walked into a countryside festival as a “regular volunteer”… and ended up as a chef in the festival cafeteria.
Organised a tiny techno/house birthday mini-festival for 20–30 friends — deep forest, DIY vibe, and proper DJ lights.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook some traditional Ukraine dishes, teach you a few guitar basics, and share what Ukraine is really about (and recommend some amazing places there). I can also explain how IT works behind the scenes and share some real-life insight into the processes inside tech.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Practical side: I genuinely like being involved in things I normally wouldn’t — it’s one of my favourite ways to experience a new place. So I’ll happily help with small home tasks, cooking, or everyday chores, and I’m also glad to assist with your daily or even professional routine if that’s something you’d enjoy sharing. A motto I grew up with in my family is: leave the place better than it was before you, and I try to live by it.
Fun side: I play guitar, so if you sing or play any instrument, let’s do a small jam. I also love board games and social games, so I’m always up for a cozy game night. If you’re into it, we can go for a walk/photo session and I’ll take some nice photos of you. We can cook together)
