About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Okay so right now I’m on that travel road again. South East Asia this time. Can’t host, if you’re into travel photography check me out on insta: xhandmadephotox
OKAY, this is shared profile between my traveling mate Raoul and I we are now traveling South America together. Hitchhiking only, camping where we can (which happens to be pretty much everywhere) and when need be (large cities) couchsurfing. Adventure encounters us wherever we go. We are traveling with a baby Ecuadorian chicken named Yang and want to make it to Buenos Aires with him, after that Raoul wants to take him to Romania to his grandparents where he can live the rest of his life happy and free!
ABOUT ME
Korey: I am 28 years old, I was raised in a small town in northern Alberta, with a population of about 6000 people. Growing up I enjoyed sports, I have a competitive nature when it comes to sports. Soccer (futbol), hockey, football, basketball, and hiking are my main interests. As a kid I always dreamt about seeing the world in its entirety, the pyramids in Egypt, living in New York, etc., but I slowly forgot about that. I am an adventurous person, a bit of a goof but only if I think it will make someone smile.
After graduation I went to post secondary and after a year switched programs to a tech school for a 2 yr program. Upon graduation, I began working. Many of my friends took another route, traveling for 6 months or so after graduation, and that always peaked my curiosity. I did a 20 trip to Thailand and really enjoyed that about 4 years ago. So at the age of 27 I decided that there was no time like now, quit my job, packed some stuff and got a plane ticket. My objective: travel Central America in 6 months. After 3 months I decided I wanted to see South America too, and here I am 8 months later in Colombia. Looking for more adventures and beautiful places just as I thought I would when I was a kid.
PHILOSOPHY
Korey:I would say I believe in the idea of Karma, I am going to go out there everyday and see the positives as best as I know how. Try to make people smile and help as much as I can where I can. I´m also learning to be more mindful of the moment, where I am and to really appreciate these moments as much as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Korey:I am currently looking for places to surf at as I´m backpacking right now, but am eager to repay the hospitality I´ve been shown throughout my travels upon return.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Korey: I have only stayed at 3 places, but they have all been good. The people were very friendly and made me feel welcome and at home.
Raoul: New to couchsurfing, it will be his first time January 15th,2015
Interests
Korey: I have a pretty wide range of interests, most things I like to learn about. Surfing and SCUBA diving are 2 new interests I´ve taken on while traveling, but again as mentioned above I love sports in general, it´s hard not to ask to play when I see some latinos playing futbol on a beach or in a park. Music, fires, exploring just about anything, hikes in mother nature, reading, writing, cooking (another interest I have really embraced while traveling), meeting people (of course!), and learning from other cultures.

Teach, Learn, Share
Korey: English, some french i could teach, Spanish I always like to learn more. I am a decent texas holdem poker player, have played in casinos and online, and win more than I lose. I am somewhat proficient with general computer problems. Not sure about much else but if I can teach anyone anything I would be happy to.
