About Me

CURRENT MISSION

enjoying summer!

ABOUT ME

Short, loud, with green eyes and fiery red hair. People say it suits me.

Gosh, I've done this so many times and I still don't know what to write. So let's start with adjectives: energetic, sociable, animal lover, vegetarian in transition to vegan, contemplative.

I'm a person who's constantly on the go. Being an undergraduate at Uni and working for a local language school gives me little chance to waste my time doing nothing. That's why I appreciate it even more when I actually have the time to do it. Which would mostly be at weekends. Then I refuse to get out of my pyjamas.

I love spending time with my family and friends. We always have a good chuckle and can spend hours debating about all kinds of stuff - politics, concerts, a new frying pan I've bought. It's never boring in our company. We like to go out and dance the night away. On the dancefloor or in the toilet - it doesn't matter, really, because we never learn our lesson anyway and we can't wait for another weekend to come.

I love animals and I've always wanted to have a dog or a cat. Since we live in a block of flats, my parents never allowed me to have pets ("You can have an entire zoo if you want to, but not under our roof!" and bla bla bla). So I had to satisfy my desires with a mouse and a hamster. Not so interesting. Still, I chose to not eat meat. Out of compassion and health reasons. This doesn't mean I would give you a hard time because you eat meat. Not at all. You look at your plate and I will look at mine, problem solved.

So many things have happened and some of them had a huge impact on me. I strive for spiritual and mental growth and I try to be in constant touch with myself, my emotions, thoughts and beliefs. I know I have my flaws but I truly believe that this is the only way to mature as a person. It's not the good things that shape you, but the bad ones - the experiences and what you have learned from them. So I try and get the best out of everything that happens to me.

PHILOSOPHY

I firmly believe that you should treat others as you want to be treated by them. So I try to be genuinely positive towards everyone, give what I can offer and just smile. I know it's not all flowers and sunshine and I really dislike this pop-pyschology crap, but I do think that it is important to let emotions and thoughts go, to show how you really feel because all those things piled up inside you manifest themselves anyway, in one way or another. So I smile and I cry and I both take as a remedy. I feel great after both.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I haven't had experiences with hosting surfers but I had some similar experiences in high school where I volunteered as a host for foreign students on several occasions. I believe I would be a good host and I am working in the direction to provide a couch in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a few experiences with surfing and all of them were really good. I really liked hosts who were ready to help you with anything but at the same time gave you the freedom to explore the city on your own. I was glad to have a drink or lunch with them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like art that is more dark and gloomy. Movies that give you a bone to chew on, music that takes you to another dimension and books that give an extra inch to your soul. The skin I live in, Pulp Fiction, Requiem for a Dream, Fight Club, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Stigmata, Interview with the Vampire; Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Cure, Thievery Corporation, Katatonia, Florence and the Machine; Crime and Punishment, The Journey of the Souls, The Alchemist, Poe's poetry and tales, Goth Chic, Hesse's Siddhartha.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is the section you talk about after you had a couple of pints of something strong and local. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I constantly learn from my own experiences, good and bad ones. I always share my knowledge with other people, especially about things I'm passionate about. I welcome the possibilities to also learn from other people's experiences since it can always benefit you.
