About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Help out people on the move! Meeting new people is awesome.

ABOUT ME

Balance is everything. I am blessed with a career I really enjoy and love getting more fit through rock climbing, cycling, skiing, anything and everything! ...and spend time with friends. I have a few very close, awesome friends and I love meeting new people! I like helping people in general.

PHILOSOPHY

Always working to remove the psychological barriers to being the best me - in work, in life, and physically.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard about this site from a friend (she couch surfs all the time) and thought it would be a really cool idea to host people when I can! I live with two awesome roommates (a guy and a girl) who are very friendly. We have a queen-size mattress and a couch and can set you up comfortably in the living room.

I would also really like to try couch surfing myself (haven't done it yet) because meeting new people and learning from them is absolutely the best!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm grateful having hosted amazing people and to still keep in touch with them. Couchsurfing is an incredible way to meet extremely interesting people.

Interests

Traveling, rock climbing, cycling, yoga, skiing, fitness, hiking, meeting new people, dancing, art and design, movies. Hoping to do more SCUBA diving and to learn how to surf. It's great to have all these options.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It can't be just one amazing thing... Life is too amazing to pick just one thing!

Cycling in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado during my first year of riding was one of the most incredible experiences for me. It took me 3 hours to climb to the top of the mountain and just 1 hour to come down at 72 km/h, with absolutely breathtaking views in front of my eyes.

Training, fundraising for and finishing a 130 mile (209 km), one-day bicycle ride to benefit AIDS research with my best friends. It taught me more about goal setting and doing things with purpose. It also made me even more connected with the friends I rode with.

Spending 2 days on an island in Puerto Rico without a place to stay and a rented golf cart to get around was fun and memorable. We ended up finding a hut to hide from the rain at night and waking up in the middle of the night in the middle of overgrown, giant roaches. Also walking through one of the most high-crime communities in the world, La Perla, was an interesting experience.

While I lived in Crimea, a peninsula by the Black Sea in Ukraine, I've visited and hiked to some of the most beautiful places I've seen in my life, some of them still unmatched by the places I've visited since. Crimea is a place with rich history and landmarks ranging from 2500 year old remains of the Greek colony Chersonesus, to Tatar palaces, to beautiful mountains and beaches.

Hiking in Yosemite with a friend I met through CouchSurfing. This happened after I wrote that bit above about Crimea. I have to say Yosemite was the most awe-inspring place I've visited so far, it's just incredible. Looking forward to climbing some rock there in the future!

Learning about and joining Couchsurfing was an eye-opening experience for me, as it reaffirmed how awesome humanity can be.

Teach, Learn, Share

People can have multiple, non-conflicting identities. That is part of what makes people so amazingly interesting. Mine, at the highest level, are Ukrainian, Russian, and American. Also a traveler, a cyclist, and a friend. A fitness enthusiast, a product manager, and an artist. They all live in perfect harmony with each other.
