Overview
About Me
Easy-going person, I love to learn and to share the things I love.
I live in Heraklion, in the island of Crete, where I work as a Pediatrics Resident, aspiring to become a Children's Psychiatrist.
I like travelling very much and, although with many years (hopefully!) ahead, I regret not having as much as I'd like to as of yet. When abroad, I like to have a genuine experience of the place I'm visiting, rather than the sight-seeing photo-obsessed kind of tourism I was used to when I was younger. One of my favourite ways for obtaining that experience is by wandering in the streets of a yet unknown city (or flâner, as the french-speakers say) and let myself be amazed by whatever awaits me around the corner, and another one is by meeting and interacting with local people.
When at home, I like sharing the local spots and activities that I and my friends like (things you cannot find in a tour guide) with tourists and friends from abroad, out of appreciation for those who shared their part of their everyday life and view of the city with, when I was travelling abroad.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Mostly to meet new people, in order to share travelling experiences at home and abroad.
Interests
I love learning new languages and talking about music, science, art, philosophy and pretty much anything else
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Trip hop, Psychedelic trance, DnB, Phish (that's a band actually) and almost anything else...
Books: Cyberpunk (Neuromancer and the like), Sci-fi, Surrealism and the works of J. C. Izzo...
Movies: Top-5 (not in that order): Reservoir dogs, La Haine, Y tu mama tambien, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Pierrot le Fou
Other activities: Well, I used to play the piano once, although now I remember only the theme from the Pirates of the Carribean, which I can perform with a worse-than-amateur skill.. This year I've taken up dance, mostly latin (although I'd say it's yet too soon to say that "I dance")
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had participated in a theatrical play once
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't feel like the right person to teach anything, I'd rather say I like to share what I already (think that) I know. So, if you'd like to learn about the greek language and culture, I have a lot to share! Moreover, I like sharing strong experiences, in case you are looking for a partner for an urban adventure...
What I Can Share with Hosts
A pleasant company, who is willing to learn literally anything they have to share. Also willing to help at any household work.
