ABOUT ME
Hi, I am from Canada (Saskatchewan) and have lived in Iceland since 2006.
I have three boys (born 2000, 2003 and 2009) and a dog and cat . So I guess you will have to like kids and animals!
Davíð enjoys listening to sound books, music and the news, self education and fixing things.
He also loves traveling around the country, hiking, camping and exploring! He is now working in a data center.
Kasper, the oldest, likes computers, talking and more talking. He enjoys talking to our guests.
Stefá¡n, is a little shy and quiet but very polite. He is in Judo and Scouts.
Leópold is our very busy.
Rósa the dog loves attention, and lots of it. If you want, you can take her for a walk. She would love it.
PHILOSOPHY
Take a deep breath and relax - it is not worth worrying that much about!
Share - don't be greedy!
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - in that order.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just by trying to be helpful in general, how much I can do depends directly on what else is going on in life.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted buckets of people from all over the world and I really enjoy meeting so many new and interesting people. (Probably says this on every single couchsurfing profile!)
Seriously, even if a couchsurfing experience does not seem perfect at first, I have still learned from it.
So, that said, every couchsurfing experience has enriched my life in some way.

ME:
I enjoy reading, a lot, but it is not limited to any particular author or genre. I tend to just borrow anything I see sitting on a self at someone else's house.
So if I know you well, I have probably read all your books.
If I don't know you, and you are looking to leave a book somewhere, I am always looking for something new.
Do not tell anyone, but I love top 40 music - seriously this is between you and me.
Davíð hates it. If you are looking for someone with 'good taste' talk to him.
I have never claimed to be cool - I am actually leaning towards boring. I like it.
DAVÍÐ:
Likes all kinds of music and really really likes Icelandic music.
I tend to read the books then tell him about them, so he doesn't actually read much.
And he loves all kinds of movies, except girly ones but he can be talked into them. He also enjoys watching entire seasons on a particular show all at once. I usually only get through the first few episodes. (like Dexter and some Zombie shows)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing is an opinion thing, sometimes I think it's amazing when I have caught up on all the laundry.
Teach, Learn, Share
There is no reason to buy bottled water in Iceland, the tape water tastes great.
Google maps seem to be inaccurate in Iceland.
All alcohol is very expensive once you get here, so I suggest stocking up in Duty Free, if you like that sort of thing.
If you dont, you should ask all your hosts in Iceland if need some through duty free, they will probably be more then happy to buy it of you once you get to them. (us included)
If you want to learn a little Icelandic for your trip, try this site for lessons online, very good:
