ABOUT ME
https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/335324/profile/legacy
I trust references not verification, I believe in received messages not in the percentage of replied requests, I'm looking for sincerity not for a quantity of friends.
I love:
1) cats,
2) cider,
3) peonies,
4) green colour,
5) watermelons,
6) to drive barefooted,
7) to eat mulberry from the tree,
8) to breath the air after the rain,
9) my CS profile:) (the old version!)
I don't like:
1) shopping,
2) cigarets stink,
3) social networks,
4) wastage of food,
5) presents that can't be eaten,
6) beginning of autumn and spring,
7) talking on the phone longer than 3 minutes,
8) and I really hate the new CS site((((...
About everything else see my references.
PHILOSOPHY
Our world is neither as good as in advertisement nor as bad as in the news.
You're alive till you're remembered.
In modern ever-rushing world the greatest gift you can give someone is the gift of your time.
"Travelling is means of cognition the world." (Paulo Coelho)
But:
"Too often travel, instead of broadening the mind, merely lengthens the conversation." (Elizabeth Drew)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Once I went to Moscow and St. Petersburg and staid with my really long-long distant relatives who I even had never seen before. They hosted me with such pleasance and hospitality like they were just only waiting for the moment when I call and ask to host me. And then I asked myself why where those people so kind to me and seemed so happy to invite me in their tiny flats. Did they trust me just because some mutual relative told them that I’m not the worst person in the world?
We felt like we’re far one from another but we have a connection. And that connection is not in the blood but in sincere interest to your life, to the city you live in, to the things you’re fond of.
Then I felt so sorry that I don’t have long distant relatives in other cities of the world. Till the moment I found CS.

Music, Movies, and Books
I distinguish three types of movies:
1-st - I just can't watch till the end,
2-d - it's worth to see once,
3-d - I can watch them as many times as I want to feel happy.
One of the last films I put into the third category and which I present to all of my friends now is "Intouchables" by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano.
And to all CSers who prefer to get personalized requests and don't want to be treated like a free hostel I recommend to watch TV-movie "Giuseppe Moscati. Healing Love" directed by Giacomo Campiotti :)
My Bible is Shakespeare but the last breathtaking sin was with Fasil Iskander's "Rabits and Boas."
I still remember the time when I was a mad Bon Jovi fan. But now I have a long lasting love affair with Sarah Brightman.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The best thing I’ve seen was magnificent scenery from the highest mountain in Europe Mt. Elbrus. At the moment when you a bitty creature are standing higher then anything your eye can reach you can feel what really matters in human life: support of a friend, strong health, and benevolence of the nature. At that height the scurry and the scramble of cities life seems so absurd but every person around you take as the dearest friend because all of them know what it takes to win the summit.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’ve learned the following thoughts from CSs’ profiles and I'm eager to share them with you.
“You start growing old when you have fewer dreams than regrets.” (Thomas Guihard from Marseille, France)
“You can Trust Life! That life, itself, leads you on, fulfills your needs, resolves your problems... if you let it do so.” (Irv Thomas from Seattle, United States)
“Dream… Dare… Do!” (Angélique Hornstra from Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands)
“There’s a choice between fear & love in our society. For me... couchsurfing is the love. In a world where mass media states we should lock our doors, bolt the windows, trust few, not talk to strangers and choose fear, couchsurfing highlights the benefits of the other way. People opening up to each other, trusting friends we've not yet met, sharing and experiencing the rewards of choosing love and living free.” (Glenn Billingham from Amsterdam, Netherlands)
