About Me

CURRENT MISSION

be awesome! *self-five*

ABOUT ME

Peter: I'm talkative. And it's hard for me to stop talking, sometimes. Jo sometimes stops me, before I embarrass myself.
I used to doodle all the time, or try to learn ukulele chords, but now I read, and I try to read a lot.
I work in a nicely designed, quiet cafe in the center of Warsaw.
I'm interested in pretty much everything, from books, graphic novels, photography, music, hiking...
I tend to collect music instruments. Some of them I even know how to play.
But what I think i might do quite good is playing djembe. And other percussion stuff.
I can refrain from playing on demand.
Also, I can make you a tasty, healthy and energetic breakfast. If you sleep till about 10-11 am, of course.

Jo: I always wanted to travel the world, even if it means I have to sleep in a tent, eat only rice, and bathe in the petrol station's bathrooms ;)
I love cooking, baking cakes, and I really enjoy learning how to cook new things.
I used to work in cafes, so I'm a bit addicted to coffee. But I also like good tea, and I try to drink a lot of it.
I guess I'm not really a party animal, but I can enjoy a trip to the pub, for a good beer and long talk.
I read everything that falls into my hands, from chick-lit to classics. I'm a bit more picky with choosing movies.
I studied history of art, so I really enjoy visiting art museums.
I love sleeping. Don't wake me before 9 am, cause I'm a grumpy monster. Unless you have a cup of hot coffee with you, of course.

PHILOSOPHY

Why do we live our lives? Cause there are beautiful places, good food and nice people? And we still haven't seen it all?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We hosted few people in our apartment in Warsaw, we travelled and let people host us, now we're back to hosting! And we're already excited!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've been around, and we met many amazing people on CS!!

Interests

FOOD! Yes, we love to eat! Everything! We'll try Every Single Cookie on our way! And then we'll cook dinner.
Ok, we also like to visit some artsy places, search for street art, find nice clothes (second-hand shops! yay!), watch a movie, or two, or maybe let's watch movies all evening, eating cakes, ok?
Oh, and we recently discovered that we love riding a tandem bike, and that we're able to go pretty far on it. (and fix it when the need comes) It's the best thing ever. Just next to pistachio baklava cookies. And good tahini sauce.
Aand we like making things. Like pillows, and little bags, and other nice stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

All kinds of different, weird music. From african djembe rhythms, world music, jazz, indie crazy shit, heavy metal, everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We see them every day! But if you insist on a list...

We lived for three weeks in a beduin camp in Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan.
We've been watching the sunset over Mediterranean Sea from the Carmel Mountains in Israel.
We worked in a zoo, and took care of the two-headed snakes, coatis and other wild creatures.
We learnt how to build with mud, cook on the solar cookers and construct hydroponics to grow tomatoes and other tasty stuff!
Aaaand, we stayed in a hostel once. Crazy, huh?

Teach, Learn, Share

Peter: I'd love to learn Hebrew and French! And how to make goat cheese!
Jo: I love sharing cooking recepies. Or just experiment with cooking together ;)
