Music, Movies, and Books

Growing up to the Beatles, Dylan, Clapton and Stevie Wonder, I listen to most music. However, I especially love jazz. Some on my recently played list: Chick Corea, Scofield, Coltrane, Joey Alexander, Chico pinheiro and Julian lage. Some composers: Bach, Villa lobos, Shostakovich, Ravel etc.

Books. There are many books that I like but some that left an impression on me are: Auster, Mishima, Munro, Murakami, Bellow, Kafka.
I would love your suggestions!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was driving in the Basque country of Spain with my friends when I crashed into a small wooden garage door and completely destroyed it. (I also knocked down a couple of traffic signs) We got scared and drove away. It was my first crash. But, I parked my car somewhere, took a few deep breaths and went back. I thought, "if I don't go back I'll regret forever..." Then, something magical happened. The neighbors gave me a can of coke to calm me down, called the owner, and, after seeing my unstable psychological state, kept saying, "tranquillo, tranquillo." When the owner finally came, he said, "Tranquillo. It was too old anyway. Don't worry, you can go." I felt human kindness and also the product of the Basque temperament first hand... Let's just say that this wouldn't happen so often in other parts of the world...

Teach, Learn, Share

I play guitar so I can share that (and teach). I can share all things Japanese, too (language, culture, food). Also, I'm really into jazz so all things jazz, too.

I would love to learn about you, and about your interests. I'm a willing listener and learner! Somethings in particular I want to learn from you: all things art (paintings, photos, music, history, theatre, literature, poetry), all things sports, kayaking, card games, chess, writing, and (especially) cooking. Basically anything worth it's time!
