NOT active on csurfing due to the change into a for-profit organisation

ABOUT ME

NO COUCH AVAILABLE , i disagree with the site's policy.

So from now on i'm not going to participate in any kind of activity of the site including surfing and hosting. Couchsurfing has become a for profit organisation and i don't want to consider myself a volunteer in it. And by that i don't mean of course that i would like to get paid now and i'm unhappy of the site because i'm not.

What i believe about solidarity, sharing and openness in general has nothing to do with others making money and profiting from that and even claiming how comfy their new couches are http://www.couchsurfing.org/jobs .

I would participate in a selforganised,anticommercial project where the people involved in it would help with the needs without money mediation. And if somekind of problem occured that necessarily needed money to be solved that would be announced and money would be gathered through free contribution of the community.

I despise all kind of organisations, collectives, initiatives, NGOs that illustrate an alternative profile, a profile of "all-together we can make it", a profile of solidarity and trust while on the other hand all they do is making money for their asses.

So please don't send me any request/message, i'm not going to answer. I will continue to show my solidarity to travelers and not only like i did before couchsurfing a bit more randomly maybe but with terms i agree with.

Ps I could have deleted my profile but i consider that a more honest way and hoping that all this above will help people that have a more naive view on things.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i believe in no borders, in no limits. This project for me is just one more way to live our lives unlike what society, stereotypes and all the brainwashing mechanisms have imposed us since we were babies.

Trusting, having good faith to people, being supportive, being helpful selflessly is a big step towards a better understanding of our nature as humans before personal gain and profit became our only goal.

i participate by embrassing the world and its representatives couchsurfers or not couchsurfers , showing them the greece i like. I really dislike the word "tourist" it has so much commercial backround. It IS possible to travel without any one exploiting your "tourist" status and couchsurfing is one of the strongest proofs!!

It's amazing how a network of people who have never met each other have found this way of getting together.

I want to get the beauty and the purity out of it and if you just see it as a free hotel service please don't request my couch!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i've surfed and several people have surfed my couch through couchsurfing and not only..
i think cs is just one way of bringing us together but hospitality can be offered in so many various ways...
