About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eventually I will learn Spanish... if that means I have to live in every Spanish speaking country before I can eventually catch on, then that's what I'll do...

ABOUT ME

I smile a lot and I LOVEEE to run. I usually always plan trips around running in half marathons which is the best way to see 13.1 km of a city in a short amount of time.

I like to think that I'm fun. I asked my friends and they agreed so hopefully I won't disappoint.

I seem to prefer living to traveling. I've lived in Santiago, Chile for two years and am currently living in Spain for a second year as well. My Spanish should actually be better than it is...

PHILOSOPHY

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." (St. Augustine)

On a good day, I eat/sleep/breath "carpe diem." The world is too big to not make an effort to do/see/experience as much as you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Last year I didn't have the option of hosting anyone but now I'd like to pay it forward with all the priceless memories I've made when I've stayed with others. I'm more than happy to welcome anyone passing through Huelva. There's not much to see but there are tapas, sangria, and a small street of nightlife.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Joining couch surfing has allowed me so many incredible experiences that I don't even know where to begin to sing its praises. Seriously, I can't imagine traveling any other way now. Especially since I often travel alone, being able to meet locals in the places I'm visiting has been like having doors open to whole new worlds. It honestly has renewed my faith in the kindness of strangers. CS = awesome idea!

Interests

Running, Traveling, Photography, Spanish, Languages, Other people's tastes in music, Eating/drinking all the local cuisine of a new city, Seeing fun things, taking pictures of those fun things, Uploading those fun pictures and tagging you in those fun pictures... oh & also meeting great people along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

I feel very passionately about all Bret Easton Ellis books, The Hunger Games, and everything Nick Hornby. If a book is good enough I will forgo eating & sleeping until I finish it.

I'm a sucker for foreign artsy films. I rented every available Chilean movie from Blockbuster while I was living in Santiago.

Musical preferences are impossible to narrow down in a small box but I did finally figure out what "world" music means and I do strive to be more worldly...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode my bike 140 kilometers overnight from Santiago to Valparaiso in Chile in the heat of summer. It was a long, terrifying trek but well worth the sweat & blood & subsequent painful scabs since I fell off my bike before we even left Santiago. I'd still do it again!

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I'm currently an English teacher, I can correct your English grammar... or I can tell you everything you ever wanted to know and more about US celebrity gossip. After those two options, going for a run with me instead probably sounds a lot more appealing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Italy, Mexico, Portugal

Countries I’ve Lived In

Chile, Spain, United States
