Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

Expand my horizons, share and learn from others, make people's lives better, make someone's experience in a new place memorable!

ABOUT ME

I am generally very chilled out and laid back. Always looking for a good conversation and an exchange of ideas and beliefs. I LOVE learning about other cultures and getting to know the customs and traditions.

I am also a photographer, and I aspire to be a travel photographer and also concentrate on street photography and poverty in the world. I want to shed light on issues that you don't see or hear about in mainstream media, the issues of those less privileged people who have nothing yet know how to make it through the day with a smile..

We complain about too much crap and take too much for granted. You can pretty much put me anywhere in the world and I'll find a way to survive and make friends

PHILOSOPHY

I believe a person is in a constant process of evolution; whether its spiritual, mental, psychological, social. There are no boundaries to what one can be and this can be achieved by opening your eyes to the world around you. Couchsurfing is a great great opportunity for all of us to achieve a broadened mindset!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couchsurfing experience started accidentally in India. I met some surfers, they told me about the site, and from then on I was hooked. I spent the rest of my India trip couchsurfing and it was absolutely life changing. I saw things from local eyes, which is much more real and rich than tourists' perspective.

After India and Nepal I decided I am not going back to my life in Canada, and decided to live in Egypt instead. So if you're planning to visit, get in touch, now! :) I will be happy to show you around and explore the country with you, especially Cairo. Also, I may be able to host you. I am not looking to use this site for dating, meeting narrow minded people, or meeting people who just want to save money. I want to meet people who want to open up their mind, learn about other cultures, and willing to share their own!

I know there are lots of CS'ers in Cairo, and I would love to meet and hang out...I drive so I am pretty flexible to meet anywhere!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am very very new to CS. Found out about it when I met some surfers in a bar in Mumbai late October 2009. I created an account the next day and had great CS experiences in India and Nepal! In India I got hosted in Kerala, Mumbai, and Delhi by three AMAZING HOSTS! In Nepal, I managed to volunteer at the Children's Welfare Home for what truly was a life changing experience. I want someone's first CS experience to be as good as mine so if you contact me I will do everything within my human capabilities to make you feel very comfortable :)

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I focus on anything that is not mainstream media - so I look for movies, books, and music that is not on your MTV, HBO, and other mainstream(brainwash) channels. There is so much talent and richness of substance on the grassroots, local, community level in every society!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I see something amazing every day. It's called life, simply watching people get by day to day, sometimes with nothing at all. Survival is AMAZING and has no boundaries , and it's amazing how some people make the best of their lives with absolutely nothing. It's a humbling experience.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I want to teach little children around the world how to read, write, and take photographs. Call me and idealist but I cannot stand the site of a child begging for money on the street or being subjected to an orphan's life, prostitution, or crime. I will do my best to contribute and make a child feel someone out there cares about their existence...

one day I hope of running an NGO that deals with street children, war victims, and refugee children who have had their lives altered as a result of political games and imperialist wars.

Länder, die ich besucht habe

India, Nepal, Netherlands, United States
