About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have no regrets.

ABOUT ME

I used to be totally addicted to backpacking around the world. I made a solid effort at this for quite a few years before I realised how unsustainable it had ended up being! Booohooo! So I went home to no job, no boyfriend, no car and no apartment. I swapped my back pack for uni books, and the tent for my parents house and went back to university to study to be a primary/elementary school teacher.

In my free time (what little I have) I love to plot little get-aways and trips - sadly the life of a student doesn't finance the big trips to foreign lands. I love meeting new people and I'm very down to earth, respectful and open minded.

PHILOSOPHY

Life your life while it lasts. Nothing is forever.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was in Alaska in 2011 and tried couch surfing for the first time and LOVED it. I cant wait to do it again. But now that I'm home, I'm available to meet anyone for drinks/coffee or show them around Sydney (I used to be a tour guide). As I live with my folks, I'm not sure I can offer a bed/couch yet but if we meet and you're cool then I can talk them around as they love meeting travelers too.

OR if you want a camping/hiking buddy I'm totally up for that too!

For future travels I plan on couchsurfing as much as possible because it's SO much better visiting somewhere and meeting people who similar minded.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I mentioned previously, I couched surfed in Alaska and had just the most fantastic experiences. Being able to meet and hang out with locals just made my trip ultra special. I cannot speak highly enough of my experiences. Bearing watching, hiking, shrimping just to name a few! Can't wait to do it again.

Interests

Anything outdoors. Hiking, winter sports, sailing, kayaking, mountain biking, dancing and of course socializing. Oh and cooking! I love to cook and experiment with dishes. I'm a bit of a health nut so I'm obsessed with things like agave syrup and quinoa (forgive me, these things have only recently become popular in Australia, we're so behind!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Floated in a volcano full of mud near Cartagena, Colombia. Hiked on a glacier near Seward, Alaska. Poked molten lava with a stick that was flowing out of a volcano in Guatemala.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I'm studying to be a teacher so if you are a teacher too I want to hear from you! (I'm really keen to teach overseas at some point in my life) It doesn't matter if you aren't though, I enjoy meeting everyone!
