ABOUT ME

I'm culturally minnesotan, but not as provincial. I'm more american than I would like, but I know it and am working on rewiring parts of the indoctrination. I read a lot, because I like ideas. More than ideas, I like how people relate to ideas, so my own emotions are a constant source of fascination, enjoyment, and questions. I can be heady, or not. Sometimes it's nice to let the woods just be nature and other times it's nice to play ping-pong.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in risk as play and new experiences as growth and everything as learning.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once so far. With a wonderful woman named emma who pretty much adopted my business partner and I. She hooked in and got excited about what we were excited about and gave us her opinion on things at four in the morning becasue she saw it all as adventure and she's the kind of person that doesn't say no to opportunity or questions, cleans only for company, giggles a lot, confuses herself and asks herself to repeat things she's just said to make sure she heard it right and is really inspiring to be around because she vibrates like the steel rails of train tracks after a frieght train all the time (mostly, I think, because her thougths race around like a freight train in her cranium).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmm. my minnesotan culture part doesn't like claiming that I've done anything amazing. And amazing things I've seen? Every day I pay attention . . . all equivocation . . . a memory only partially visual: laying in the middle of a frozen lake in two feet of snow watching the crystal clear stars through the polished lens of ten below. Feeling the universe for a moment and then the howl of a timber wolf . . . feeling that it is so quiet in the space I see that I know, really know, physics be damned, that the sound of that wolf can be heard through out the expanse of everything. everything. everything. exactly as I hear it.
