Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Restructuring the international political and economic system for greater justice
ABOUT ME
I'm in South America to learn about daily life here and to figure out how I can help to make things better. You can look at my ex-wife's photos to see more photos of me.
PHILOSOPHY
Every day I'm thankful for being alive (although not when I first wake up) and I want to do whatever I can to thank the world for that gift. Humanity has the material resources it needs; we only need to learn how to work together to create a livable and just world for everyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a bunch of Couchsurfers here in Buenos Aires, and I've gone to a bunch of CS events. Almost all of them have been wonderful. Occasionally other people have hosted me or us while traveling, too, which has been great!

Music, Movies, and Books
"How to Change The World" --- that book on Bill Drayton and his network of "social-change entrepreneurs".
"The Fog of War" --- that old bastard McNamara admitting to war crimes and giving some advice about how to avoid his mistakes.
"The Logic of Failure" --- Dietrich Doerner's book about how mistakes are inevitable, and how to deal with them, based on psychological experiments.
"Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs" --- shows how computer programming provides new ways of looking at the world and of thinking.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wikipedia is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. It makes me cry when I think of how beautiful it is. The 2006 Tungurahua eruption I was in was pretty amazing too.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know about Linux, computer programming, Wi-Fi, electronics, and high-tech startups, and I'm a reasonably good writer in English. I can find my way around Buenos Aires with the Guia "T", argue with cab drivers who try to charge too much, and spot counterfeit Argentine bills. I can cook, a little. I know English well enough to be a pretty good proofreader. I can fix wooden furniture.
