About Me

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my life. I take life as it comes, I rarely worry or plan(many of you reading this will find that out as I probably requested to stay on short notice, but I'm trying to get better at at least planning my next cities..) I have a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and I'm pretty sure I'm going back to school soon... who knows? Currently teaching English in Madrid

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a big fan of people helping people. I encourage everyone I know to do the same thing that I do and just move somewhere else, and then explore. Couchsurfing and other forms of connections in far away places can help that happen for a lot of folks that wouldn't normally be able to. I'm hoping to host folks from and stay with people from all parts of Europe as I explore as yet unseen places, with my own eyes, that is.

Interests

Languages, meats and cheeses, Chelsea FC, wandering around a new city, traveling cheaply, debates/discussions/arguments (any real conversation, truly), and a whole slew of other things.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite author is Dostoevsky. I also enjoy reading Tolkien, George RR Martin, Michio Kaku, Steven Pinker, and other random books from a multitude of disciplines and fictional universes. Music tastes are all over the place: Immortal Technique to The Famous Jug Band to Animals as Leaders to Apple Juice Kid to Led Zeppelin. Too many favorite movies over the years to name here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stood in awe for hours at la Garganta del Diablo. Or slept on top of a giant sand dune outside Siwa Oasis.

Teach, Learn, Share

My focus in Linguistics was TESL, so I'm exceptionally willing to teach English and provide what help I might be able to with Spanish or any other language from a linguistics standpoint. I would love to refresh my Arabic as it has slipped away in the last few years. I want to learn whatever you want to teach me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A helping hand, an open ear, a place to stay when you're near my current city, (see Teach, learn, share) haha
