ABOUT ME

I am happiest when outside, and love hiking, climbing, camping, and exploring new places. I'm an avid bike commuter and have recently gotten into mountain biking as well. I like to travel, meet new people, and learn about other cultures. While home I get excited about trips to the farmer's market and hiking or biking the trails around Missoula. I also love to dance- swing, salsa, contra- anything lively and social works for me!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a continual learning process. I try to live well with a minimum of stress, and above all to have a positive impact on the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted, participated in local couchsurfer events, and stayed with couchsurfers while traveling. All have been great experiences and I've met a lot of cool people!

Interests

I spend most of my weekends in the mountains, either hiking, backpacking, or biking. I'm not a fan of the cold but I live in Montana, so I also cross-country ski, snowshoe, and dabble in backcountry skiing during the winter.

My boyfriend is really in to bike touring and skiing, and is always excited to host people arriving via bike.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like just about any music if it is live, especially things I can dance to. The stuff I play at home tends to be indie rock.

I used to read a lot but then went to grad school... I'm just starting to read for pleasure again. I'd love book recommendations! I'm not particular to any one genre as long as it's well written.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking in the Austrian alps was pretty cool, but my favorite backpacking trip was actually the San Juan mountains in Colorado. The scenery there is stunning.

I know a lot about ultralight backpacking, and outdoor gear in general. I can share my knowledge of hiking trails and would love recommendations from others.
