À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Explore new places, enjoy fine art and food, find dinosaurs!
ABOUT ME
I'm a data analyst in Boulder, CO. It pays the bills but it's not really for me. I want to be outside and able to travel which this job doesn't afford. My degree is in geophysics and it gave me the outdoor travel bug. I enjoy meeting new people, seeing new places and having great experiences. I am generally late (please forgive me) but try my hardest to be on time. I grew up in Hawaii though and the Hawaiian lifestyle sticks with me (20min late IS on time there :)) Curling and skiing are my favorite winter sports becoming an Olympic curler is on my bucket list.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life to the fullest! As Horace said “Carpe diem! Rejoice while you are alive; enjoy the day; live life to the fullest; make the most of what you have. It is later than you think.”
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted some couch surfers over the years, and I've surfed quite a bit. Both via the site and just with friends around the world. I travel a lot so I'm not always available to do host but I love to when I can. One always meet interesting people by allowing them into one's home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch surfed with friends/relatives. Lots of fun! I try to give back by doing the dishes or cooking dinner/breki!
Centres d'intérêt
Taking chances, conquering fears, but mostly HAVING FUN and learning from everything you encounter.
I love backpacking, hiking, camping, climbing, skiing, science and learning! Also, singing poorly to aweful and wonderful music, and getting my groove on. As well as art, music, good food, good wine, good beer (which there is no shortage of here), good friends, mountains, the beach, swimming, surfing, exploring and most of all DINOSAURS! And I very much dislike heights and elevators :/ (though i'm actively working on my fear of heights through a renewed interest in rock climbing)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Non-fiction is currently my mental floss of choice. Though Life of Pi and Alice in Quantum Land are good and of course J.K. Rowling (guilty pleasure).
Movies: Any except for horror (or bad gore), and NO zombies. They creep me out, as in nightmares from the Walking Dead creep me out. Recently the Fast Films (fast and the furious), hokey 80's films (see John Cusack), and comedies.
Music: All but super electronic, I know it's the latest trend but I just can get hip to that jive. Oh and have you heard of Darwin's Theory. If not, check 'em out, they're super groovy.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I've seen the sunrise from 14,000ft +, survived Lava Falls, and been to the lowest point in N. America (death valley) in less then a month! And it was amazing! I tend to take off for impromptu trips pretty often, so if you need a ride somewhere I might be going there.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
Teach: Cooking/Baking my friends say i'm pretty good at it (but i'm sure its just the college diet). Local geology and if you're really into it, some pretty cool math (i.e. chaos theory).
Learn: I'd love to learn anything! Life is an open book, what will you fill the pages with if you never ask questions?
Share: Stories, drinks, a warm cozy fire (via youtube). Trail maps, back country skills, and baked goods.
