ABOUT ME

My name is Krijn (Krinu to some). I'm a local in Amsterdam. I've lived in the Netherlands all my life. I have recently finished my bachelor in child psychology and plan to start a master in the same direction next year. Before I start my master I'm going to travel through Argentine, Peru, Chile and Bolivia from November until April. I'm doing this to get a taste of South-American culture and to learn Spanish on the way.
I also love to play music, listen to music and whistle music whenever I get the chance. I play the guitar, the saxophone, a little singing and sometimes a little DJ'ing.

So far I have hosted a few surfers in my home in Amsterdam. I've had great fun receiving these people and showing them around. I have only surfed once myself, but I'd love to make that more!

I love how the world just shows up on your doorstep through this site! I've had someone from America, Russia, China and all kinds of different countries just coming to my home and telling wonderful stories about their lands.

Interests

One of my great interests when I meet new people is how to connect to our common humanity. Sometimes I've got very different perspectives on life and still there is a commonality to be shared. I love to understand people and to try to see the world through their perspective. Hereby making a stranger into a friend.

Music is also a great interest to me. Also because it is such a common thing for humans to enjoy listening to music and to play music. I love to enjoy sounds together.

I'd be lying if I said that I'm an experienced traveller, but what experience I do have with travelling, I loved it! Especially when I did step outside of my comfortzone and got involved with unexpected experiences.

I'd love to learn more spanish! I've been Duolingo'ing like crazy, but still I really need to get better.

I can teach English and Dutch, I can teach guitar, I can teach some dutch meals.
