Overview
About Me
I used to write a whole bunch of Words in these spaces, but I never felt like they represented me very well. Somehow it always misses the mark. Anyway, just ask, we can talk about it.
The Really Very Short Version: I'm here, or I'm there. I'm a practicing (Soto Zen) Buddhist, whatever that means. I try to follow a plant-based diet whenever I can, and I do my best to, as Kurt Vonnegut says, "love whoever is around to be loved."
Photography stuff is on my website: www.kristophernicholson.com
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing made me care more about people again and helped me not be so cynical all the time. Folks are, by and large, kind and accommodating, and I want to keep that kind of community alive. So, I surf, I host, I help out with events when I can. The usual stuff.
Interests
Anything can be fascinating if you speak to someone who cares a lot about it. So, there's no end to what I'm interested in, I just haven't met all the right people yet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I couldn't decide if I've done anything or not.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think we all do all three of these things at once. I've never intentionally taught anything to others I don't think, but I know a bit about English, photography, sketching in pencil, and making food that somehow is simultaneously tasty and plant-based. I'd love to share any and all of that with others, and learn whatever is out there to be learned.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can help you with English (I love language exchange), and I'm always looking for a chance to cook tasty food so I'd be happy to cook something using whatever ingredients we find. If I have my equipment with me, I can make a damn fine cup of coffee in my Moka Pot. If I have my camera with me (I probably will), I can make a cool portrait of you for your profile.
