About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet people who tell me stories of the place I'm visiting.

ABOUT ME

Quiet and curious.

PHILOSOPHY

Bouddhist tendancy that I try to apply in my every day life and by meditating (vipassana technique). Respect, detachment, realism, positive speech and actions...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I discovered couchsurfing in New-Caledonia and got in contact with several friendly members who welcomed me and who I thank very much. They either host me or we went for a drink or even for a dive. Thanks to the couchsurfing I enjoyed my trip much better, it actually made it! I try to give as much as I received. Now I am on the road again, once you've tasted it...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

People offered me accomodation in Nouméa (all together 5 weeks). It was a good way to discover different parts of the town. Another person offered me a w-e on board his sailing boat. I also spent a rainy afternoon in a bar with a couchsurfer and his friends, it saved the day. Back home I hosted people (french as well as foreigners)for short periods. I am back from a 5 month trip in south-east Asia. I sent several requests in Laos and Cambodia, but no answers. It seems that couchsurfing is more difficult in some countries.

Interests

diving (rather freediving), yoga, DIY, travelling...

Music, Movies, and Books

I like film musics (kill bill, trainspotting, until the end of the world, lock stock and 2 smoking barrels, white cat-black cat, in the mood for love...). Blues, reggae... I don't read as much as I'd like to. Favorite writers: St Exupéry, Boris Vian

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching giant sea turttles nesting on a beach in french Guiana.
Also in Guiana : watching rocket Ariane taking-off, really smashing :O.
I made and sold caribbean coconut ice cream and pancakes in Cambodia, trained a khmer friend and gave her the machines to continue the business... good luck to her.
But I never look for anything special, thus I enjoy simple things coming across my way...

Teach, Learn, Share

*teaching: French language, welding, traditional dances from Brittany (if anyone interested?!)
*learning: Spanish. And so much more, about which I have no idea yet! (I met an Italian girl in Australia who is a specialist in sea turtles, she shared her passion with me, so I became interested though I knew nothing about turtles before!).
*sharing: trips. When I work in a country, I stay and visit it as thoroughly as I can.
