About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel to every Canadian province before 2016

ABOUT ME

I tend to travel with my husband, Chris, so this is a description of both of us...

We're both laid back people in our mid/late thirties. We've been married for going on seven years, but together for ten. We're trying to travel throughout Atlantic Canada on a shoe-string budget for about six months. Chris is a singer/song-writer/guitar player. Krissy is a counselor/potter. Both of us love to hike and get outdoors as much as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

That's a big question that's difficult to distill into a tiny place. I believe that people are generally good and that we should do everything our power to do right by the people in our lives and to have a positive impact on the world around us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not quite sure how to answer that, since I haven't participated yet. I'm hoping to see how couchsurfing goes while I'm traveling. If it's the positive experience I hope it's going to be then I'd like to open up my place to host people in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have absolutely no couchsurfing experience but I think it's a great idea and I would love to try it!

Interests

Music, pottery, outdoor pursuits (hiking, kayaking, camping), traveling, reading, movies, silly TV shows, good food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - we're both truly eclectic when it comes to music. I'm a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen and rootsy rock, including a lot of alt country, like Wilco and Uncle Tupelo. I love the Cowboy Junkies and Ani DiFranco, too. Chris loves Phish, the Grateful Dead, U2, Big Country, Rush, and is a huge jazz nerd.

Books - I read A LOT. This year I'm trying to read a book a week. I mostly read fiction. Some of my favorites are: Middlesex, The Abstinence Teacher, the Interestings, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves, Leaves of Grass, On the Road, American Gods (and all Neil Gaiman), and so many others that I can't remember right now. Chris is a big fan of reading music biographies and history books.

Movies - Almost Famous, the Star Wars trilogy (original, of course), High Fidelity, and a bunch of others. If it's quirky and features music in a prominent way we'll both probably like it.
