Overview
About Me
I am a SLC native with a thirst for all outdoor adventures. I am an avid rock climber, mountain biker, trail runner, skier and snowboarder. I am generally a quiet person and tend to avoid large crowds and big cities. I love all animals, and I have two dogs (indoor) and the world's coolest cat (outdoor weather permitting). I am currently a second year graduate student at the University of Utah, studying occupational therapy. If all goes as planned I will graduate in 2017. I have a degree in Adventure and Outdoor Programming (yes! it's a real thing) and discovered my love for the outdoors my first year of college. I have worked as a guide for two different companies, guiding primarily climbing, canoeing and backpacking. I found that guiding wasn't really for me, as I would rather spend time in nature with friends rather than clients.
I currently work at the psychiatric hospital at the U of U as an assistive staff to nurses, doctors and social workers.
I hope to see as much of the world as possible in my life, and my favorite places so far have been Uganda, British Columbia, and the Kalalau Trail in Hawaii.
I would love to meet new people through couchsurfing, both as a host and a guest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
SURFING: I have 7 different internships throughout my graduate program. I am hoping to explore new places to get an idea of where I want to spend time after I graduate. I am trying not to become to stagnant while I am in school, thus I am hoping to leave SLC for each internship and temporarily feed my passion for nature and adventure.
HOSTING : I am happy to host you! I will set up a mattress in my living room for you under our home climbing wall. Here are some things to know: I have two dogs. They are both sweet and love people, although one is young and can be rambunctious at times. I also have three great roommates. Also, our shower drains slowly :). We have a veggie garden you're welcome to if it's in season.
Overall, I want to meet new people though couchsurfing and have a good time.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am on an Odesza kick right now. They are my favorite to listen to. I don't watch too many movies, but I really love most documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Uganda in 2011 to study the water quality in rural villages. Over 3 weeks, my group found endless bacteria in nearly every water site. The agency I went through returned home and then raised money to put a well in the most contaminated site. While we were there we also taught women to make reusable hygiene kits and distributed micro loans to get communities going with a community driven project to support themselves.
What I Can Share with Hosts
