ABOUT ME
My name is Krista. I love traveling and adventures. I am very open-minded to anything. I love biking and running. I love getting to know different cities and the people that live there. I also love learning languages. Eating weird food, drinking anything, beaches, hiking, nature, and any adventurous activities are my favorite things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started couchsurfing in Europe and have now done it also in Asia, South America and the United States. I've met so many wonderful friends through couchsurfing! I really believe that it has created the best traveling experiences.
Interests
Traveling, Food and Drink, Biking, Music, Photography, Writing, Running, Tennis, Nature and Exploring, but also completely new experiences and hobbies.
Also, I am super interested in speaking/learning new languages so any opportunity we have to speak in the local language...let's do it! You can laugh at my fails.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: a lot of Indie Rock and Punk, but also everything from folk to electronic but also including samba, pop, jazz, classic rock, and funk OR maybe a combination of all those things in one! I love music a lot.
Movies: Quentin Tarantino movies (especially Inglorious Basterds), foreign films like Pan's Labyrinth, The Orphanage, Howl's Moving Castle, Bienvenue Chez les Ch'tis, Amelie, as well as Memento, Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, and so many more.
I also love TV shows like Game of Thrones, Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, Dexter, and so many more. Also, documentaries and things like Planet Earth or the cooking channel are cool...Anthony Bourdain is my inspiration. Classic cartoons like Tom and Jerry and Looney Toons are great.
I love reading, but only occasionally have time for it. Usually I'm reading classic novels like Catch 22 or To Kill a Mockingbird OR am reading Harry Potter in Spanish or French. My subscription to Newsweek is about the only reading I can truly dedicate my time to though.
Please show me more music, movies, and books! :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My trip to South America was one of my favorite. Everything from hang gliding off a mountain in Rio de Janeiro, a helicopter ride over waterfalls in Foz de Iguaçu to drinking wine in the mountains of Mendoza. Plus, a lot of hiking and beautiful views.
More recently I went to Thailand and Indonesia with my boyfriend and every day was something great. I especially loved learning to surf and scuba dive in Lombok, Indonesia.
Coming up in September, my good friend/roommate and I will be going on a 30 day bike trip from Seattle to San Diego and making some stops for exploring in a few cities we're interested in. Seattle, Portland, Crater Lake, Medford, Crescent City, Eureka, Garberville, Ellits, Calistoga, San Francisco, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and San Diego are our stops that vary from just staying overnight to 3 days in length. We hope to do couchsurfing in any of the cities that aren't just overnight so we can meet some cool people and hang out.
What I Can Share with Hosts
With Hosts: some crazy stories, sometimes I'll bring you a bottle of wine or beer if time/traveling allows, flexibility, communication, and respect towards your home. And hopefully a friendship that lasts longer than the one experience.
With Surfers: If I ever have the opportunity to host, I would love to show people all over Minneapolis...preferably in the summer when I am not in hibernation from the snow (although in summer I tend to work a lot). It's a beautiful city that not many people know about. We can go to the top of the Foshay tower for some good views of downtown, bike around Lake of the Isles and check out the architecture of the fancy houses, drink coffee everywhere, go bar/brewery hopping in Northeast, play a game of pool in a grungy dive bar while listening to some good music, show you the restaurant I work at, and if at the end of the night you're not too tired, I can make you a cocktail at our bar at home while playing Cards Against Humanity with my boyfriend Charlie and roommate Alex.
