Kristan van den Brink that’s me! (I'm still a bit new on Couchsurfing!!!)

I live in the Netherlands (for people that doesn’t know where that is, It’s the small country next to
Germany, on the left side). I'm working as a ‘Network Engineer’ for a telecom company (KPN).

I think I’m a very ‘down to earth’ kind of person with some sense of humor that tries to look positive
at the world. I’m someone who says what he thinks. (it’s an characteristic thingy of the Dutch people)
but I don’t have always an opinion about anything. Most of the time I’m curious how other people
think/look at things.

I’m somebody who can take care of myself in most situations (but I’m also good in doing stupid
things or making stupid decisions). I’m always careful when I meet new people because I don’t want
to do things they don’t like. I respect that everybody is different and I don’t mind to adjust myself
when I’m staying at someone else’s place. I don’t have any religion. But I respect anybody’s religion.

I live in Apeldoorn, I have my own house with a great view over a big park! I live here with my girlfriend. She is from Hong Kong and living now as well in the Netherlands.

Some downsides of me: I’m a difficult eater (I also annoyed by this myself) I will try everything but I
not a kind of person that can eat everything (I can’t handle hot spicy food xD). And I don’t like to
drink coffee or beer (I like white wine sometimes). Also I struggle sometimes with languages. so I’m
not the best English speaking person alive. But also not the worst. Good enough to talk about almost
anything (you are allowed to correct me every time).

Other things of me: I don’t smoke and I don’t do drugs. For some reason It’s easier for me to hang
around with girls than boys. Maby because I’m a bit girly minded at some things. I don’t have a lot of
rules and I’m not easily offended. Also Its easy for me to adjust/adapt to new plans/situations.

I trying to be a creative, sweet, kind, happy, positive person that can get along with everybody!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I discorded when I travelled to Japan by myself. That meeting up with locals is a much
better way to explore the country. Also its easier to learn about the culture because you can ask
them. Also they can help you in difficult situations :)

And ofcourse being friends with people across the world is soo coool!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like going to the movie theater or watch movies! I like most type movies the only thing that I don’t
like are horror movies or bad comedy movies.

Everybody likes to listen music. I like most type of genres (it depend on my mood). But
I don’t like hard loud the same sound the whole time music (like: hardstyle, hardcore).

If I have to choose some top 40 artists I choose:

- Justin Bieber
- Taylor Swift
- Rihanna
- Drake
- Beyoncé

I don’t like to read books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I got my passport I have been to Japan by myself for 2 weeks. Without traveling for a long
time. So It was a bit scary and a big adventure for me. It turns out that it worked out even better
than I had expected!
